Any advice for hearts of iron 4? I can play the vanilla game by skipping the launcher. I'm a huge old world blues fan and I need the launcher to turn the mods on for the steam deck.
Does there happen to be an ETA for a fix? I saw there was a launcher update that rolled out today, so I tried launching CK3 from Steam but it still doesn't work (I also tried with the beta version of the launcher).
Also would like to know this, it's been 2 or 3 months now since the issue was originally raised.Does there happen to be an ETA for a fix? Thanks for the status update! As a status update I can tell you that our QA took delivery of their Steam Decks at the beginning of this week. From that you may draw your own conclusions, as I won't be promising anything (bugs take the time they take to fix).
As for your problems running CKIII - Unfortunately they won't get solved by the launcher team, you'll need to contact the game team. I do believe I stated that earlier in this thread![]()

This also works with the launcher if you do the same steps with the 'dowser' file, so you can access and manage your mods.Copied this from another source but here is a workaround to get Stellaris to launch on the steam Deck.
I've tested and this works.
So if you switch over to Desktop mode - open steam library - right click on Stellaris, manage, browse local files.
When that page opens up, look down near the bottom for a file just called "stellaris", it'll have a grey back ground with a "!" in a box.
Right click it and copy location.
Then go back to Steam library and right click on Stellaris, open properties, on the general tab you'll see a launch options, paste the file location in here.
Then a space and add %command%
Then when you next run Stellaris either from Desktop mode or from the normal steam deck bit, the game will run normally.
How do I find the "dowser" file? I got it running now but I prefer to have the launcher as it enables me to launch a save straight away. This also works with the launcher if you do the same steps with the 'dowser' file, so you can access and manage your mods.

Hi! I may not be the smartest guy in the world, however I did notice that it works for hoi4 because there is a launcher option that allows you to just skip the launcher. This also means that you can have mods, guides, achievements, what have you. I was wondering if this could just be a feature for other paradox games? Since the problem is just the launcher (at least for me) playing paradox games is totally possible and from my understanding of it the steam workshop is the only real issue. At least for the time being could this be a simple fix? Again I am not at all sure and I might even be having a separate issue.I write this to convey the happy news that we will henceforth make sure that the Launcher works on the Steam Deck. Furthermore, we'll have a stab at controller input support as well, but that's going to take some time.
To clarify: This only means that the launcher will work on Steam Deck. It does not mean that all our games will work on the deck, but instead that the launcher will not be a limiting factor.
Please be aware that getting the launcher running nicely on the Steam Deck is a bit complicated, as it entails not just running on Linux (though it does mean adding testing on SteamOS on top of Ubuntu), but also the Proton compatibility layer for games originally made exclusively for Windows. In practical terms, this means that the whole "working" bit might not materialize immediately.
That is in the purview of the dev team for each game, rather than the launcher dev team - HOI4 made that decision, the others have not.Hi!
