I see the launcher is now beta-21, any update notes?

We released a small bug fix with a workaround for the Windows long path limitation (unless one explicitly programs around it, Windows limits file paths to 256 characters). The latest Battletech patch didn't work without it.

The versions between beta-15 and beta-21 have contained only art assets and the like, which is why we didn't bump the version number, or release a changelog for them. Unfortunately currently we need to do releases of the launcher to update art assets, we're working on a solution for that.

Hi all,

Aside from the launcher, we're continuously improving the shopping experience at Paradoxplaza.com. This weeks user facing updates:

May 09, 2018: Paradox Store - 1.1.0
- "In library" feature: we now show if you already own a product when browsing the store. This kicks in if you a) bought the product through Paradox Store and/or if you bought it on Steam and have connected your Steam account to a Paradox account (https://accounts.paradoxplaza.com/settings). Right now this is happens in product listings, product pages will inherit this solution in a coming update.

How does that work exactly?

When I look at the shop I see that I am logged in, click "browse" for the list of games, use the filter to show only Windows games. But in the list of articles none is marked as "already mine" or "owned". For example Crusader Kings: Horse Lords or Europa Universalis IV Art of War are already mine but in the list of games I see them with a green "buy now" button...?

I already have my forum account synced with Steam as the icons under my avatar show.

You might want to try disconnecting and reconnecting to Steam, to refresh your connection. They don't last forever, I think.

I disconnected from Steam in my Paradox account, then reconnected, went to the Paradoxstore and was logged off, so I logged in. Clicked "games", chose OS Windows - no game is marked as already owned, all have the green "buy now" button including those that I already own.

I would love to use the Paradox Launcher more often but I need it linked to my owned games so I can use it for all of them.

Why Stellaris updates come to Launcher users a week later after release? Now Distant Stars is out and I can't play despite pre-ordering it. When can we expect Launcher versions to start being released simultaneously with Steam?

We're sorry for this, it is scheduling and technical limitations (which we're working to alleviate).

As for a week later, we're improving! Distant Stars was out on the launcher only an hour after Steam. However, we ran into a technical problem which might affect all users who aren't instlaling it from scratch. We are fixing it right now.

@ReverseVarangian it seems the launcher log files are no longer at
C:/Users/<username>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/Launcher/cpatch.log
Knowing where they are now would be great!

Trying to deal with an issue where all Stellaris DLCs show in a user's account, but none appear in the launcher page for the game.

@ReverseVarangian, 2.1 Niven is in the Launcher, true. But it still thinks I don't have Distant Stars :(
And it seems my Paradox Account went crazy about it as well:

(I'm sorry if it's not the right place to post this complaint, but from my humble perspective it looks like a continuity of the same issue)

@KeenBee the two issues are actually unrelated. We found the launcher issue and fixed it, thanks a lot for reporting :)

We also figured out the accounts page issue, it should be fixed tomorrow. However, it should not stop you from enjoying Distant Stars on the launcher!

Battletech is still on version 1.0.2 in the Paradox Launcher, any plans to update it eventually?

1.0.3 Release Notes stated : "Release 1.0.3 is now available for all users on Steam and GOG. It will be available for Paradox Launcher and other platforms on 5/16/2018."... yet 9 days later and nothing.

This is under the control of the dev team (HBS in this case), not the guys who write the launcher.

While we have received the new versions in time from the developer, we ran into technical compatibility issues in our testing between Windows and the tech driving the Paradox Launcher, related to the file structure of Battletech. This has unfortunately prevented us from publishing a patch since 1.0.2. We are hard at work to fix the underlying issue, and we will keep you posted on our progress. In the meantime you can play the latest version on Steam, but it is of course our goal to always have the patches on our own platform at the same time as we have it on Steam.
