HI, No prob on the events, i finished transferring today. game running real nice. :)

6. Play the game. all goes well until I want to load up a scenario and I get CTD... What the ****!? Oh yeah, Checksum: CLMH
 
Trying to play the latest beta of IC with the latest beta of DH (1.03-rc2). First question is beta 9 compatible to DH 1.03-rc2?
In case it is compatible there is a problem with the research icons (see screenshot). research.png

Install DH 1.03-rc2 (you don't need reinstall beta9)
 
Howdy. I chose Arma for IC.

1. What's the most recent patch combination that is known to be stable (clean install)?
2. I installed Arma 1.0 with IC 1.0. Can I go back and patch Arma and IC, or do I have to install Arma, patch, then install IC?

Is the newest beta compatible with ARM 1.2 as mentioned on the first page or is it working now with ARM 1.3 beta? I played IC with ARM 1.3 and got a CTD after 9 months of gameplay that was my first game so did it happen because of wrong version of ARM? Cheers
 
Personally I'd much prefer they took the time to get it right.

Beta 9 needs quite a bit of work.
 
I've just installed IC + beta 1.3-9 over AOD 1.8 and I'm getting the five tech slots problem. So it seems there are still problems.

Are there more additional files or editing required? I've tracked through this thread and can't work out what to do.

Also, and without looking at anything else, the naval techs for Germany are all wrong.
--They knew how to build Badens in 1918!
--280 mm should be a starting tech
--also 10k cruiser (but not the fancy attachments), (this is a treaty cruiser and common knowledge since the Kents were laid down in the 20s) and pocket battleship. For pete's sake, Deutschland was launched in 1931! You have two more in the starting production queue that you don't know how to build yet! This makes no sense.

Also Fokker DVII interceptor in 1933? You should be able to get to ME109 by 1935 and start with He51 as an absolute minimum.

There is more no doubt, but is all this intended and if so what is the reasoning behind it?

Technoview 'View Details' needs to show the Tech ID if it's going to be any use, doesn't it? Because that's what the save editor wants me to input...

I have played this game since it was a board game in the 80's. HOI is the only game me and my best mate keep returning to as we love the strategy.
We recently installed 1.03 beta 9 over Iron Cross - Arma.

One major game play problem has reared its head

1. The AI randomly chooses a country that 3-4 times a month it fires the Invest in Resources Event. THis allow this country in Invest in Industry\Technology\Military. I played a game as England and notices that New Zealand (NZ) was giving me alot of Tech. I stopped the game and checked NZ its economy was bigger than mine and had researched everything.

I created Austria-Hungarian empire and played this country. I was getting the invest in Resource event up to 8 times a month. I had Spy satellite, MBT 105, Nukes to load into Missiles in wait for it 1939. France was toast!!

I played England checked on the USA it was building Nuclear CV in 1940. USA was obviously getting the same event.
This probably explains why some of you are having trouble taking out certain countries .i.e Poland

This event use to only appear every three years and only in countries that I created

This fault needs to be fixed ASAP as it has ruined all my games. World domination is near impossible

Also:

2. If a unit get out of supply the screen in over populated with the out of supply messages.
3. The build priority arrow needs to be put back to send unit to the top or bottom of the production line.

I have some other issues I will raise then later

AI usage of Manpower

G'Day Team

Human


A human player will always conserve manpower to allow for reinforcements and necessary units.

AI

GER and SOV for example. When both or only one are controlled by AI you always know that by about 1942 either both or the opposing AI will be below 10 manpower. A point of no return for those countries. Easy picking for human victory. China seems to be to the only country with unlimited manpower.

Domination of Europe and Asia is just about a certainty. Why ? As long as you can play the waiting game or war of attrition you can always be certain that the AI playing the other major countries will manufacture themselves to death, keep building units until their manpower is below 10.

The AI needs to be adjusted so that countries don't go below 100 - 200 or 25% manpower. This will ensure that they will always have reinforcements thus certainty of victory for the human player will be removed.
