Converting Iron Cross to the work with the latest version of DH should be simple, converting it to use the features of DH more complex and converting the HOI2 new Iron Cross features to DH virtually impossible.

The first could probably be done by a modder easily, the second by a dedicated modder, the third by divine intervention.

No i'm not volunteering, I attempted to rework the economic side of Iron Cross sometime ago, but that darned real life kept getting in the way.

G'Day

Is it possible to manually create land based supply lines.
For example from a capital to a specific port, so supplies from a particular port do not run out. Supplying from USA to Europe
Washington to Norfolk

I have played where I had plenty of supply in Washington, but none in Norfolk. Norfolk was my main supply port to Europe. Therefore my troops where running out of supply

Oh yes, as Japan I want to remove all the garrissons from the Pacific and only hold on to 2-3 important isles.
I want these 500 supplies shipped back to Tokyo, how can I create a convoy?

And OMG, the province list of "creatre convoy" is a total mess...UK and Japan especially. is there any chance of them to appear in alphabetical order?

Sometimes I am unable to create convoys from certain islands - is it because they lack a harbor or supplies?

Plus, I never saw the "create convoy" shortcuts work... what am I doing wrong?

A couple of small quibbles as Germany.
1: Ending trades with nat China in 1937. I'm given no choice...the fuhrer orders it. Isn't that my role? If I'm not Hitler, then who am I? I appoint ministers etc, so I'm assuming that's my role.
2: The non-aggression pacts with Scandinavia. Once again, no choice....in fact the pacts are related to decisions the other countries make. So I have a pact forced on me that I didn't want, and the only way to get out of it costs me 10 dissent. That resulted in me editing away the dissent. All other treaties I'm given a choice... why not this one?

In both these cases it seems that the event writer ran out of either time or desire to finish the chains. The 1st is not so bad, as you can re-establish the trades, but the second brings any Scandinavian campaigns to a screeching halt with absolutely no say on the German's part. The Scandinavian nations did not have a magic "you can't attack me, nya-nee-nya-nya" ability.

Cheers

Hi

Rc1 uploaded.

If we don't find a problem, we will send the final version

Hi Quintelosky,

if this is to be the final ver, take your time, there still ARE bugs and bad design features:

Starting 1939 as Norway:

- the "invest resources in..." event for minors is still bugged since 1.09. Event fires with short intervals as long as there are resources available. So N Zealand or Norway can keep all the other Allies running no sweat.

- for 1939 scenario you can choose by then non-existent countries and crash the game.

- AI still overstacks leaders, but this may be because they don`t have fitting ones.

- unit deployment is still stupid, like ARM in Belfast or african jungle.

- AI still doesn`t guard vital locations at all or so weakly that they are overrun immediately.

- I saw Bulgaria switch sides though it stayed neutral all the time. A communist coup may be staged, but not side switch for a neutral country. This on 1.09 though.

I can post saves for you to look at.

IC hasn't been made compatible with the latest version of AoD (1.09 is still being worked on after all). Maybe some of the bugs you listed are due to this incompatibility? Although I can confirm that the 1939 does let you choose non existant countries leading to a crash in 1.08 too

SRY Adolphin,

forgot to mention I only ever play on ARMA 1.2.

Hi all,

AI unit choice for amphib assault still sucks like:

- attacking mountain prov with coastal forts with MOT and ARM. And often with overstacked leaders... Massacring Waffen-SS in Bergen with average Norwegian militia is fun though!

BTW, ALL my observations concern IC 1.03 on ARMA 1.2.

Oh sorry I thought with

Hi Quintelosky,
- the "invest resources in..." event for minors is still bugged since 1.09.

you were talking about the AoD version.
Anyhow, not a bug per se but what's still kinda off is that Japan always loses the war against the Chinese and that rather quickly.

Hi Adolphin,

sry, wasn`t clear enough, there is an IC beta patch for ARMA with numbers upto 10 IIRC.

Re invest in resources, if it`s not a bug, then it`s bad design. As I said earlier a minor shouldn`t be able to keep a whole alliance running.

And an example of many immersion destroying descriptions and classifications, how on earth could anyone count the NA P-51 Mustang as an INT while Spits are FTR? Yes, it`s nitpicking, so what?

I admire IC very much and it`s clearly a labor of love but there are too many "features" and too little coherence, consequence and logic in many event chains.
Still, best WW II grand strategy game by far. Well, I probably complain because the game is so good that I want even more of the same.

Hi all,

Irish unification bug:

- when Ireland gets N Ireland provs from UK, irish supply and oil production becomes multiplied by a factor of 30-60. Instead of one supply unit you get, say, 40.

Not a bug but an obvious design fault is that Ireland does not get any additional tech teams after unification.

Rgds, Oldtimer

Hi all,

IC 1.03 Rc1 over ARMA 1.2 1939 and 1936 scenarios.

I´ve played enough now to remark on the following:

1. Balance

SU and Nat. China are OP. GER is pushed back to Oder by late 1942 or spring 1943. JAP is evicted from Asian mainland at the same time if not earlier.
Even when GER and JAP allied in 1940 GER still DoWs SU in 1941 but SU has no problems with a two front war at all.
USA got involved in 1940 here but GER STILL DoWs SU. Actually it`s Adolfs style but bad for gameplay. Axis are getting more and more screwed in spite of very welcome new events making US war entry less probable.

2. Events logic.

Ireland joins Allies Sept 1939. In autumn 1940 they still get "Negotiate with Ireland" evt where UK offers them N Ireland. If Ireland is Allied this evt should not fire at all.

Agreement on Sud Tirol between ITA and GER. If not signed it should give a high probability for ITA to not join the Axis. Benitos fears abt. GER claiming Sud Tirol was the reason for his earlier attempts to align ITA with the Allies.

Events really need a thorough check for logical results for different decisions.

3. Tech immersion.

How plausible is it that GER flies and builds He 51 as lvl 3 INT in 1939? Not very, believe you me.

ESC for UK? They never produced one in quantity, adopting NAA P-51 Mustang instead. So here we are at alt history which might look as(starting at lvl 1 ESC and going upwards): Bristol Blenheim Mk IF, Westland Whirlwind(maybe a land ver of Fairey Fulmar which had enormous range), Bristol Beaufighter of some mark, DH Mosquito, DH Hornet.

I`ve been tinkering with techs for my own use but beeing a noob I had to use the HoI 2 editor which is not very compatible with IC. Only a few functions work. Better than nothing though...

I realize that at this stage of IC development a thorough rework of techs(time correct hardware names for a lvl, correct pics of this hardware) is not probable. But what abt. reworking the editor to full functionality and releasing it as a payable enhancement?

Rgds, Oldtimer

Hi all,

more inconsistencies:

- UK 7 Jul 1941 went with: "Sign the agreement" in English-SU agreement for mutual aid. SU same day: "Sign the agreement" for mutual aid.
UK same day went with: "Sign the agreement" in Mutual Assistance. SU same day: "It`s not necessary" in Mutual Assistance.

Unless it`s 2 different agreements with very similar names the above does not make sense at all. BTW if UK and SU do not enter the coop agreements it must have consequences like:

- something like an extra L-L delivery(in scope, not from USA) or two for UK with a hefty dissent hit though. For SU a delayed hit in even more lowered GDE by
late autumn 1941.

Rgds, Oldtimer

Hooray? It looks like finalization will be there on Christmas. Sadly, with this patch I'm experiencing more random crashes to desktop than with beta version 10... but when somehow, on one occasion, intro didn't loaded and it went straight to game menu, there were no crashes. Strange. So I suggest to add option for removing intro loading, to Iron Cross control panel. I'm using IC over Arma.

But most important feature should be implementing SPACEBAR as default PAUSE key. As for the rest - it is what it is. Cheers!
