Directx error

I get error-message "This application has failed to start because d3dx9_41.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." when starting romegame.exe after updating from v2.2 vae victis to v2.32 beta.

I havent experienced direct x problems before with rome.

Edit: I tried the romegame.exe from the 2.31 beta patch and now i can start the game.

Yes you don't get that error. But not updating to the latest version off directX could make your system unstable and make your game crash.

Then you will report in this thread about a crashbug. Doomdark will start working finding the crashbug, and can't find anything.

First, a BIG thank you to Doomdark and team for the continued effort in making Rome a better game than it already is!

Second:

that was just fixed in the last beta too. as before, it only affects the list of characters screen. individual character windows display their correct ambition.

Not true (for me, at least). Ambitions are correctly updated in the character list and individual character windows.

I have the same problem on my laptop.

You must download and install the latest version of directX 9.0c.

Tried this and it does not help.

It should work anyway. Easiest fix though: google it - download the d3dx9_41.dll and put it into your Rome folder. ;)

This does not work either

Laptop is at DX 11.

Yeah i fixed this by copying the complete rome folder from a computer with a working installation to a flash stick, and moving it to the computer with the problem installation, and copied over the problem computers installation with the good installation and the problem was solved.
Oh yeah i did try first just fixing the launcher file but that didn't work. It took the complete folder copy to fix it.

Oh and i almost forgot.

All the Devs working on this deserve a nice big cookie of thier favorite kind. I would even personally bake this cookie for you if it weren't for fact that by the time it got there, it will probaly have grown its own legs and arms, and greatly protest its consumption.

Download the latest DirectX Redistributable from Microsoft (eg from here: http://www.computerbase.de/downloads/system/directx/
It will install all files for DirectX 9, 10 and 11 (32 and 64 Bit)
