This is not working for your player base. It's becoming clear that most people would prefer the incremental updates. It would at least show us that some progress is being made.

It's also worth noting that when you release updates in big chunks like this, rather than smaller increments, you risk creating more issues than you solve. It's easier to mitigate and react to problems when your updates are smaller and more manageable. You're less likely to break different parts of the simulation when the updates are smaller (the homelessness bug is the perfect example). And if something still breaks, smaller updates make for easier hotfixes.
It's not even about that for me. Bundle it together if you want to, but at least talk to us. "We are working on Bug X", "we have fixed bug Y and will include the fix in the next patch" and so on. As is, there is this never-ending cycle of
"big patch out of the blue, everyone praises CO, radio silence for weeks, people are getting impatient with CO, follow-up bugs appear, people are getting annoyed with CO, vague statements, people are getting angry with CO, big patch out of the blue..."
and it's just so unneccessary. I really don't envy avanya, her job must be incredibly frustrating as seemingly she isn't allowed to say anything to the community she is supposed to manage.

The issue with the approach they're taking is that fixes for very basic and critical issues get delayed so long that folks stop playing, and once they've moved on it's going to be difficult, if not impossible, to bring them back. The total radio silence on even a broad description of progress besides "we're working on it" doesn't do much to inspire confidence, especially given previous statements about improving subpar communication that frustrated the community. And that's especially a problem where we've had the gamebreaking homeless bug slip through the QA cracks last patch.

We seriously need a beta branch.

Maybe Monday? Or Thursday? Or maybe the week or month after that? Who knows?

"we have fixed bug Y and will include the fix in the next patch"
And then it turns out the bug is not fixed because it was unwillingly reapplied while making other fixes. Or it looks like it's fixed but then turns out that something else also causes it.
You know, as it is with software development.
As a dev you never say that something is fixed until it's close to patch release, since by that time it has been tested and regressed over and over again with and without any potential dependencies that could've brought the bug back.
Do not say anything unless you're 200% confident it works.

And regarding a bunch of earlier posts that I can't be bothered to quote - lol random people telling devs how to develop the game and organize the workflow, never fails to make me laugh.

Please just get on with it and keep us kindly informed with occasional updates.

Reasonable people will understand when treated like true partners in kind, clearly the problem here is in the silence.

Talk to us.

Unfortunately, a fix for the issue with homelessness will require more, but we'll dive right back into it when we return from our summer break.
Not to be rude, but "we considered this state is appropriate to be released in the planned window" (straight up lie in our face for now, we've already seen it all, dear CO/PDX)
It means the game must be fully polished not more than a month of two after release. We'll have 1 year soon. And it's not even close to be good in community expectations, see Bug Reports page count.

upd: You disagreeing on my opinion of calling the publisher team liars or the fact you has been sold the unbaked mess with broken mechanics and hoardes of minor bugs? They lasts half year+, so great experience with the product.

so they are working on another patch, which they have states before their holidays - ok
they have a plan and timeline and an idea how to fix bugs in an order, which they have decided internally - good
so we will have to wait for fixing and proofing to get a better game - bit by bit.

yes, it is difficult to wait, but we'll have to.
if i can play with it today, i can do so - if i'm not fine with the actual state of the game, i have to wait until the next patch - easy as that

please let them do their work.as said, they will share infos if those infos are ready to share.

don't forget that you are talking with paradox fanboys even if they got a game that didn't run up and paid $500 for it, they would still be the happiest players in the world

I really hoped to have a bit more information on what's coming up today at 15 pm; the bugs mentioned in this thread, and for example the status of the asset editor. Please just communicate more on the progress made. I'm an ultimate buyer, quite patient, but I just want to know where we stand at the moment.

Also even if the case is, there will be no updates for the following two, three weeks, months, then I know I don't have to check back here for some time.

The Q&A they released on social media was almost comical. Wish we had gotten a proper statement. Something like "Hey we are back from break and making good progress on some things". We know there is another detailers patch in the works, the asset editor, hopefully our promised DLCs and more. Instead we are back to guessing and hoping we get a patch before the 1 year anniversary.

The last question was answered in an unsatisfactory way. Basically, they said it's the way it's supposed to be even though (at least in NA) if a passenger car uses a bus lane for any reason other than turning into a driveway or at an intersection it is not allowed and you can be issued a citation and fine for using it. The pathfinding AI needs to be far stricter than it currently is.
