Jorian

I guess I did overreact seeing how the host has the only save file that is used. I just freaked when he made that thread saying how easy it was to edit multiplayer save files. Jorian is unbanned. So jorian if you wish to continue campaigning with us you will need to purchase the expansion.

... apology accepted, but please next time do read what i write about :)

As it seems you decided to move to VV, i am now going to publish my last AAR, again i wish to mention that it was not the fact that you now change to VV what bothered me, just that i thought that the votes from 2 weeks ago were already closed and legit.

About the link between the editing thread and this game: First of all, i explained in the other thread that many use editing to enrich their games, I never edited any of your saves, and you only used a save from me once because the other one was missing (what wasn't my fault neither), so if you are still unsure about me, then please do test that save with one of another player, you'll see that the accusations of that unnamed person are untrue.

I wanted to ask for a voting on if I can replace my gallic army sprite with a carthagian one after I post the (still not) published last AAR. This was the only change i hoped you will agree with. When you wrote that there will be no editing I didn't even mention this possibility, just now after you said that all the rules are removed wanted i to ask for this "flavor fix" so that the game event related AAR can be related to the game again, to finish the circle, so to say. I believed that "no editing" was also a rule, thus it was also removed.

The whole game long I enjoyed to be part of the group, i never wanted to be a powerplayer or a warmonger as the gauls, I was polite with others and will always be (note to GM: while it sounds obvious that politenes and no insulting are requirements in MP, from the experience of other games, I suggest you do add this as a rule even if you don't use any others) no matter which nation I play, and how I roleplay them.

Sheltonious: I am not one who plays the "bad guy", and i don't dislike you, I hope you know this...but as one who wants the good side to win, the bad one to lose, your "Blood God" did freak me out

So, I hope you will accept my version of the last AAR, as my main issue to continue this game was to destroy and make the Blood God get forgotten, not the Seleucid Empire, I hope this story will be to your liking, where you get out as victorious but not with that religion. :p
(Well, if you wanna protest, the group can still finish this campaign to see what the result would be, but because we end the campaign now, I think a "draw" in the story would be fair)

For everyone: If you wish to have any of the flags i posted again for the next campaign just tell me, if you are going to play a nation which doesn't have a new flag yet, just ask me to make for it an other one aswell, plus I wish to hear from Dan if he liked the carthagian flag I made, because I still wait for the reply on that (and tell me if you prefer the mainly black, or mainly white one)

Okay...lets do this AAR already, my next post here will be the beginning of it :D

Atrebates: The Darkness Within (Last AAR: Part 1)

Atrebates, a well known tribe in the north of Gallia was the chosen leader of the few remaining independent gallic tribes, Albion was subdued to the chief of the "Two Lightnings" aswell, except the Picts in the north. The atribati lands were known for a quick increase of wealth and prosperity under the harsh rule of Buite Divicid, the Druid King. The romans had a fortress near the hearthlands of Atribati, carthagian trade flourished, and many refugees from far away lands settled in the "lands of the settlers".

Things were not so good as they seemed at first however...

Since the death of the "Lion Tamer" and the begin of the rule of Buite two factions dominated the elder council: the Gladiators, and the Revisionists.

The "Gladiators" took their name to honor Aneroestes the Lion Tamer, who once fought in a roman Arena and won the roman support after his victory there. This faction wished to continue the changes of the dead chief, and wished their culture and arts be "civilized".

The "Revisionists" wanted the opposite, they disliked every "new" thing in the tribe, like the new harbor, the imported clothes, that the school opened by Aneroestes still existed, the law that meant you have to bath more than just once per month, and the many foreign people (musicians, scholars, military trainers from Rome and Carthage, ect.)

This was not an easy age for the tribe, half of the population teached the old ways to their children, the other half the new ways.

The turmoil grew, and the once loyal and/or subdued neighbouring villages started to demand more rights, more gold, more troops to defend them, or more freedom...

It was on the 15th of Avgvst, 527 AVC that the tribe of Siluri denied to pay their tribute any longer, and declared that the Druid King is not their King anymore. Buite was not in the best mood for separatists at that time, as more and more weird visions disturbed his dreams in the night, sometimes they came even when he was awake. He declared the Siluri traitors, that they are not showing respect after all the time Atrebates protected them, and sent the fleet out to sink every fishing boat of them they find, while a large army with him as its general prepared to move into Albion.

The fleet managed to nearly starve the tribe untill the army also arrived in odrovices, and the siege didn't took too much time as the former Chief of the Siluri died in strange circumstances (a cow fell on him) and the newly elected son of him surendered to the Atrebates forces. Before Buite accepted the surrendering of their village, he got to know that Siluri has the Picts as their allies, he planned to move on with the army to their villages aswell, but before he arrived there the picts were overrun by barbarians and the new chief there didn't want to do with Siluri anything at all, he was not fighting the war of his predecessor.

Buite Divicid demanded total obidience, and every single Siluri tribesman, woman, and child was declared to be one of Atrebates from now on. Siluri was no more and Atribati only grew stronger.

As Buite sailed home with the navy of Atrebates, he had a new vision, he saw the red lion slaughtering a golden lion, an eagle, a black horse, and a huge scarabeus. He immediately became unconcious, the sailors thought he is seasick.

When the Druid King arrived home, he saw a damaged egyptian ship in the harbour, this suprised him, as he didn't see any of the Nile-people since the death of the Lion Tamer. He spoke with the old but charismatic captain of the ship, and as it turned out, Egypt lost nearly half of its posessions since they visited the town, and this was possibly the last of the egyptian tradeships coming to Atrebates.

The captain told Buite that the King of Macedonia, one of the allies of the Seleucids declared he allies with Rome, and cuts all connections to the seleucid empire, where a new heresy flooded Asia Minor and Mesopotamia.
The macedon King declared himself the Defender of the Hellenic Faith, and since the Aetolian League didn't oppose this title, it became his.

The Druid King remembered his first vision about the battle between the macedonian soldier and the Red Lion, he finally understood the meaning of it.

Asking the Elder Council to keep the peace and law while he is away, he prepared on to a long journey to Carthage, and sent a pidgeon to Rome aswell. He decided to ask the foreigners he loathed so much to uphold their Alliance, and to march against the Red Lion, what seemed to be equal with the Seleucid Empire at that time.

He asked the captain of the egyptian ship to give him his maps so that they can be copied, and that he takes him with his own ship to carthage. The ships the tribe owned were organized into a small raiding fleet, one thousand man with the newest iron axes and shields were put under the command of two loyal northern gauls, named Asterix and Obelix. As he was the Druid King, Buite Divicid knew about the mythical potion the druids of that region can brew, so he asked the two commanders to take some of it with them.

He himself brew another potion, but that one was a poison, he ordered the two gauls to use their troops to create a diversion while they travel to the seleucid capitol to poison the King of Seleucea.

The raiding navy (it could be called pirates too) with the one thousand man strony army escorted the egyptian ship untill Carthage. The fleet survived two storms and finally they reached south Iberia, the carthagian lands.

Suprisingly, the egyptian ship managed to get out of the storms nearly unscratched, so the Druid King sailed alone to Carthage, while the Pirate Fleet remained in Ikosim for repairs.

("The Adventures of the drunk celtic warriors in the red light district" of the town had been cut out due to the carthagian censorship, sorry!)
