I've a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 3, with Fedora 42 KDE on it. With 16GB swap space and lowest graphics settings, I can run Crusader Kings 3 on this laptop playably.
But Vic3 crashes no matter what. The best I've been able to achieve so far, by editing pdx_settings.json manually, copying from a version I found online, was to reach the new game creation screen, then it crashes when I attempt to create a new game.
Is it somehow possible to get the game to run on this machine? Would it perform better on Windows 10? CK3 is also a bit less capricious on Win 10, but Vic3 is tougher.
What I observe is, somehow Vic3 can't make use of swap space, it instead fills up the physical memory and when it is close to 100%, it results, as per the exception.txt file, in a SIGSEGV.
