Early on we managed to defeat the Palaiologoi usurpers, capturing Constantinople for ourselves. Then, utilizing the superior diplomatic skills of the Komnenoi dynasty, we secured important alliances with both Christian and Muslim nations. Complete destruction of the Ottomans was inevitable. After our main enemy was vanquished, we went on on a long campaign of reconquest, starting with Caucasus, then continuing with Balkans, Levant and Egypt. As we set our gaze on the crown jewel of Justinian's Empire, Italy, the Catholics took notice. The resurgent Frankish barbarians called a grand coalition, accusing us of shattering the balance of powers and being the next Genghis Khan. Laughable! Even though the coalition's armies far outnumbered our own, we managed to defeat them time and time again. Even as we were declared on from all sides, invaded by the hordes of Mughals, Rus, Poles, Hungarians and Franks, we were victorious.

That's what lead us to the current day, 31st December of 1820, or rather, using Roman Calendar, Annus Mundi 7328. We have realized Justinian's dream. Romania, Circassia and Nubia are our loyal vassals. Basileus of Rome is also the Tsar of Ruthenia. Pentarchy is restored, uniting all of Christendom.

If we had more time, we would go on to crush the most stubborn of our enemies, the Frankish Empire, the last bastion of Catholicism in the whole world.

Here is the ethnic map of our core lands:

I must say, this was the most fun I had in a long time. The game was challenging to the end. :D

My best Naples run so far had a lot of fun with this one, started out with Independence War got Castille, France and Morocco to support me just completely collapsed Aragon and managed to keep the alliance with Castille and France with favor exchange. Kept Castille as an ally until I conquered most of Aragon then they cancelled. The Ottomans got caught in a giga hug box. Mamluks were allied to AQ, Ajam, Tunis and the Great Horde who had won the early game decisively having taken Muscovy as a vassal and conquered all the way out into Chagatai. They only died because the Ottomans reached critical mass and caused a cascade where they had five wars on them at the same time.

Brandenburg formed Prussia then Germany

Allies: France, Netherlands, Poland, Egypt

Tunis became a real colonizer in this game and Sunda won against the as expected broken naval AI

Thats the largest AI Transoxiana ive ever seen..
Your Italy Run looks Different from my Naples Run as i went on a Crusade against the Muslim World. I was released by Aragon who allied Castile which significantly Impeded my expansion into Iberia and waited too long to invade the rest of Italy which by then had way too much AE. I went into the Balkans First and Took out both the Ottomans and Mamluks. I had Croatia, Hormuz and Bologna as vassals

eu4_16.png

my Ferrara>Italy run had much better success in invading Europe.
eu4_51.png

I had a ridiculously overpowered Alliance Trio with Spain, France and Hungary so i was able to ignore AE but Hindered my expansion in those areas as most Italy missions involved invading those said areas. France was obviously the first to break my alliance then Spain and last was Hungary who i contested the Russian PU at the very end of the campaign. Also had Ethiopia as vassal

By the grace of your imperial majesty Emanuele Filiberto I von Habsburg, in the 38th year of his reign. Up to this point, his greatest achievements were the conquest of the capitals of the Republic of Genoa and Venice. Most of the wars that the Neapolitans were involved in were on behalf of their allies in Georgia and Austria. Plans were made for an invasion of Egypt, but they did not go ahead after low support from the war cabinet.

Continuing the campaign from the previous post.
This is how the Revolutionary Empire of Naples finds itself after 13 years of the reign of Emperor Pietro Vico Pignatelli, who overthrew the republic and established an Empire again, this time along the lines of the Revolution. Most powerful nation in Europe, with hegemonic power.
The Emperor reigns in Naples, known for being a Continental Intellectual and Art Center.

May I present to you, my empire of Butua / Rozwi Empire!

eu4_75.png

eu4_76.png

Started as a two-province vassal of Mutapa. Got my independence and went on to conquer most of Africa, India, China, South-East Asia and a lot of other places.
My income was 3 times higher (Just over 3000 D/M) than that of the second highest nation, which was Spain.
I did not get involved in any European wars or affairs on purpose, just minded my own business on the other "half" of the world.
All in all, a fun and entertaining run through.

And why not form the Rozwi Empire at the end!

what did you use to make those maps! that looks amazing

First Roman Empire, Sweden as PU and Asturias, Scotland and Lucca as vassals
eu4_60.png

Messed up on the Personal Union with France and had to conquer everything,
eu4_62.png

This resulted in an entire campaign with a coalition of entire Europe which prevented me from gaining the nnecessary provinces to form the Angevin Kingdom.
eu4_54.png

Had to declare war on countries the day the truces ran out so they didnt join the coalition. Set up base in Northern Africa and Southern Italy who werent in a coalition.
eu4_64.png

After repeated invasions of Iberia, The Americas, The HRE and the Ottomans i was finally able to form the Angevin Kingdom in 1767.

eu4_67.png

Managed to get most of Europe under the Angevin Empire
eu4_59.png

Capped out on AE and had over 1000% Overextension, Corruption got over 60, constant rebels for the last 100 years

I really like this one. The borders look great, and the name placement is simply perfect. It looks infinitely better than the final one. I'm curious, why did you decide to hold part of Scandinavia yourself, instead of giving it to your Swedish Junior Partner?
because like most games i get random PUs within the last 20 years of the campaign. I invaded Denmark in the 17th Century. Look at my AE picture(second to last) i maxed out on AE with Sweden yet they still didnt have Liberty Desire over 20%. I didnt even have anyone contest the PU. Also if i had invaded more of the Commonwealth i would have had a much better name placement across Europe, but since i didnt get the PU with France i severely stunted my growth in Europe. I would have given it to Sweden if i had the PU earlier. I had Asturias the started colonizing so i gave a huge chunk of Africa to them to save on Admin points. eventually i will try it again and get the PU on France so i can form the Angevin Kingdom much sooner which will help drastically in expanding faster. I messed up a lot on that campaign by not focusing on the right missions and got a huge coalition in Europe. A really good player could easily get WC with Angevin Kingdom

....And achivmeent completed. Honestly what a mess Hussite is. What should be a fun way to "rage against the machine" ends up being a pretty weak religion. By far the worst aspect of it is that you cannot start the league wars early and force Hussite as the official faith.

Instead you have to agonizingly wait for Protestantism to spawn and you cant even elad the league yourself! I had to wait for stupid Sweden to declare the war for us. And then everyone hated me so I didnt get picked for emp so I had to force vassalize and..........

Ugh...I get that the league war is coded for Protestant but yikes! Hordes are fun to paly so why cant Hussites and Peasant republics also get to feel great?

The dev's should consider allowing German Hussites eligible to flip Protestant, and kick starting the German Reformation. Also, doing something about Sweden and Denmark kick starting the German Reformation, because they have a low tag #.

Agree, but I think that might be outside the skillset of the current devs, most of who are ex-modders who love to make mission trees.

The Reformation used to spawn in a variety of cities, but now the 2nd and 3rd Protestant centres almost always spawn in Copenhagen and Stockholm, sometimes Berlin and sometimes London but very rarely anything else. Not as fun as it used to be with variety and feels like you're replaying a previous campaign a lot of the time.

Now that's some commitment, most people would have just scrapped it or used console commands to fix it

My biggest campaign yet, the new Austrian missions are even stronger then the last set. But i'm pretty sure the new AEIOU is broken I had by far the largest army but it stayed X. And the AI Offensive War logic bug got me an easy win against the Ottomans when their 40k got demolished by my 120k. But in all it was the most fun i've had in awhile with this game. Got the Habsburg on the throne event for Spain and was able to get them into a PU after No CB Portugal to get the 4 provinces needed.

Allies: Spain, Poland. Russia, Tuscany, Egypt, Canada
Personal Unions: Hungary, Bohemia, Spain, Burgundy
Vassals: Milan, Bulgaria, Latin Empire, Gascony

Also I didn't even realize Mutapa could even do that lol they had 700k troops at the end
