Fantastic, especially political map in the Tohoku (Eastnorth) region!

It is also interesting that the writer of the article compares the work with Football Manager (I love this series).
Maybe there would be Kemari mini game in Sengoku?:D

EDIT:
Just a small thing.
I think the heir styling of women in this era was rather straight like this.

Interesting, I'm wondering how this "armies get bigger over time" concept will play! :)

OMG, they managed to include in the same sentence two (and I hope three) of my all-time favourite games. :D

Using elements of the Crusade Kings engine, Sengoku goes into Football Manager levels of depth with each character, ranking your honour, martial ability, diplomacy, intrigue and so on.

It shows a bit more than just Tohoku ;)

A great picture, but I think it shows that they need a few more colors for the clans on the map. It's never good for neighboring groups to be the same color. (Also, who are the "Niu Shiba" in Echizen?)

I've reserved my opinion to Sengoku but after this preview the game is starting to catch my attention. I just hope the game will have a good amount of originality, and doesn't reveal just a spoiler for many of the CKII mechanics and concepts. But the concept is good, and I like the bet on a scenario specific grand strategy from paradox. Maybe we will see some projects like this in the future, giving the focus and detail to some history scenarios, that CK or EU can't give due to their massive scope.

".. Notably, AI characters work together to plot against each other and you – they will only move as a group against a clan leader if they think there’s a good chance they’ll win – or at least threaten him enough for him to pay them off. There’s even a plot organiser screen, for single and multiplayer.."
Does this means we will be able ourself of being part of plots against our liege or different characters?! this would be incredible!

That would seem to be the case. You will be able to plot with fellow vassals against your liege and also I hope with the vassals of your enemies too. It would be nice to be able to form a conspiracy with the Master of the Guard. "Okay, in the spring I will be besieging your master's castle. Help me and this castle will be yours, as my vassal of course..." Will characters have ambitions like in EU Rome? Like one character could want revenge on a certain other character, another could want an office in his master's court, while another wants to marry the shogun's daughter.

You can plot with your enemy's vassals, but not with his master of the guard.
Courtiers will have ambitions similar to the ones in Rome, but somewhat toned down.

That political map looks amazing! Nice read.

Very nice preview indeed :)

Indeed. I simply wonder how did developpers successfully put factions in Tohoku region, because I know this area as political caos in the late middle ages.

Hard work by the "Research Department" :) (me and a few great betas).

I read the first part and said to myself, I'll read it at work tomorrow. I did read some of the comments and it upsets me that people compare it to shogun 2. I understand it's the same setting and the map and some textures look similar but I expect a lot more from this than shogun 2. Please keep up the good work. I look forward to reading the preview and playing the game when it is released. Paradox, when they say the market is like democracy and my money is my vote, well you have my vote!
