this simply sounds great. paradox is working on games I´ve always dreamed of. the question is: which game is more exciting, ck or hoi? I simply will buy both!

I am equally more interested in CK, particularly as finally Paradox is introducing the sought-after dynastic model. Also, I wonder if Pardox will avoid bogging HOI down with tactical micromangement. It appears to me that they are compelling the player to micromanage all fronts, as (if think) Johan said he loved sending in the airforce hours before the land forces struck. Such Blitzkrieg detail will bogg the game down and I would have preferred a tactical HQ AI or so take these tasks away from the player, leaving him free to concentrate on the broad strategic picture. Micromanagement would kill the game, given its RT character. Then it should be better turn-based.

Oh I cannot wait for this one! I voted for this in the medieval / Roman / post-Napoleon poll long ago. I'm most pleased of all that both the medieval and Roman games will be coming out.
Maybe we can work out a deal where we pay Paradox in advance to be able to beta test. And so they would have some cash up front they could use during development.
Please continue to give us some previews along the way. I want to see how close this comes to the game I was (someday) going to develop. I did get some of the basic ideas down on paper (dynastic marriages, ruler characteristics which affect everything from battle to taxation to relations with the Church - and how the characteristics of both parents affect those of the children ... you can leave the government of your country to a lieutenant while you go off crusading - with some effect on the possible loyalty and less control over tax rates, etc. while you are not around ...). Of course Paradox is creating a broader game than I had thought about. And given history, they will pull it off quite well.
If beta testing is targeted for July, does that mean release date target is Christmastime?
