I don't know how but when I load any of the saves of my Palmyra game, Karin becomes Terra Incognita Serica, and this change persists if I go back to the start screen and choose a new game. I have to exit the game to reset it.

It added a new province and the save game has one fewer. Some localizations might also be mixed up. It's just a save incompatibility.

Any particular reason Seleukeia (in Isauria) is a one county duchy? I don't think it used to be, on the old map.

It didn't; d_seleucia was a new addition, but d_armenia_minor used to have the name "Seleukia" before I changed it to Kilikia to make it more accurate.

Laodikeia/Thrakesion is another single county duchy in Asia Minor. Is it your intention to leave these single county duchies as they are?

For info I am working on fixing the Central Asian map, as presented in earlier posts of this thread and as discussed with FG. I will present more details shortly. I notify this here mainly to avoid duplication, if ever anyone else was considering taking care of this.

As a side note, I will postpone work on religious descriptions for the time necessary for the Central Asia map fixes, which are required for the release, while descriptions are not.

[2]: <mod>\localisation\1_titles.csv (11624, 1)

First PROV426 should probably be PROV413 (Yatvyagi) and I have made that change.
However, while history/provinces has the title as Yatvyagi, definition.csv has it as Gardinas.
First PROV428 should probably be PROV427.
Code:
427;0;27;145;Wrotizlava;x
428;42;30;18;Cladzco;x
Code:
PROV427;Wrotizlava;;;;;;;;;;;;;x#Changed to PROV427 from PROV428
PROV428;Cladzco;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
But history/provinces has these as Upper Silesia and Boleslav.

Second PROV917 should probably be PROV971 (Hadrumetum). 971 in history/provinces is Mahdia.

I have made the changes in localization, but the province history needs to be fixed.

As promised for the "beginning of the week" ;)

Here is a proposed revision of the de jure set-up for "Central Asia 1.0", together with a few name corrections. The blueprint is posted below or accessible as an excel file for easier handling at this link.

The main principles guiding this revision are:
- fixing inaccuracies;
- reflecting well pre-Islamic geography;
- reflecting well cultural boundaries between the Persian, the Turkic and the Indian worlds;
- balancing sizes of de jure duchies and kingdoms.

I cannot provide a full list of rationale for every change, but they are well researched and I am happy to provide more background on specific changes at request.

Still, there may be (will be certainly) glitches so feedback is much appreciated.

The next step for blueprint work is to make one revision on the start up realms and rulers, that can be described in the following guideline:
- Serindia and the Sogdian (formerly, Tocharian) culture should not extend in the steppes North of Ferghana (the current capital of "Alexandria Ferghana", renamed Taraz, should be the northernmost settlement of the Sogdian/Serindian world, and one located at its periphery)
- The Serindian Empire realm of game start up with Sogdian rulers should be relocated to the Ferghana Valley, with its capital at Panchekanth;
- The empty land made vacant by this relocation should be filled by a non-Turkic steppe culture: the rump state of the titular Hephtalite Empire now located around Kophes or a rump Scythian (Saka) realm (to be determined)

Now I welcome help in implementing these revisions and developing the fix described above, otherwise I'll continue work at my own limited but steady pace.

LI_Central_Asia_1_0_De_Jure_Revision.gif

Localization changes made except for adjective forms and the culture. I can't find a trace of Tokharos in the cultures file or in localization in current SVN.

Code:
De jure	County	Balkhash	1425 Balkash	Sogdiana	Serindia	Balkhash	Balkash	Djeti Su	Türkia
Province 1425 is a lake:
Code:
sea_zones = { 1422 1432 } #44 Central Asian/Tibetan lakes
Did you mean 1244?

Which duchy/kingdom/empire does Qyzylqum belong in?
Code:
De jure	County	Qyzylqum	644	c_urgench	Khiva	Bactria	Serindia	Qyzylqum	Xvairizem	Khwarazmshahiyan	Serindia
De jure	County	Qyzylqum	644 Khiva	Bactria	Serindia	Qyzylqum	Aral	Sakastan	Türkia

All localization done.

Where does c_bam (PROV655, Arg-e Bam) belong? It was in d_gedrosia before that duchy got moved from e_india/k_sindhia to e_sassanid/k_baktria, but is not listed in the spreadsheet. Never mind, found it.

Is Pârsa supposed to be k_persia (currently Aryana)? (It would have helped if localization changes and new titles for higher tiers had been listed as well.)

Was there supposed to be a de jure change for these two?
Code:
Hagmatana	675	c_hamadan	Hagmatana	Media	Eranshahr	Hagmatana	Hagmatana	Media	Eranshahr
Kum	665	c_qom	Hagmatana	Media	Eranshahr	Kum	Hagmatana	Media	Eranshahr
The duchy, kingdom and empire are the same on both sides.

Sabzawaran (c_charolais, PROV657) needs new barony names. The current ones are French (e.g., Mont-St Vincent), and don't fit the area.

By the way, we should make sure that Hellenistic, Sogdian names and the like, the Exonyms, are well placed again. I began a list of exonyms some time ago and I guess now it would need revision with these changes. It's easier to do it while you're tweaking the code than to do it all at once afterwards.

@ Cesar: well, fuly agree - time for constructive contributions ;)

OK time for after sales service :D

Code:
De jure	County	Balkhash	1425 Balkash	Sogdiana	Serindia	Balkhash	Balkash	Djeti Su	Türkia
Province 1425 is a lake:Did you mean 1244?
Well, yes :eek:o

Which duchy/kingdom/empire does Qyzylqum belong in?
Hehe... a twin province.
Good question. Culturally, probably more to Aral and the Turkic world. But it is below the Syr Darya so geographically, it belongs more to Xvairizem as a frontier province of sort. So I would opt for the later.
Xvairizem / Khwarazmshahiyan / Serindia
Once we do a more serious overhaul, this province should get tribal or pretty much desert anyway.

Is Pârsa supposed to be k_persia (currently Aryana)?
Yes. In this area, it is normal that the same name is applied to different levels. In Persian, Parsa applies to Persepolis as well as to the region, and ginally to the country of Kings.

(It would have helped if localization changes and new titles for higher tiers had been listed as well.)
Hum I thought of doing it. I can still do it, stay tuned.

Was there supposed to be a de jure change for these two?
[Hegmatana and Kum]
Do you think we should change it? I checked and found the current set up the optimal one, but I am open to suggestions. Hagmatana was indeed a province name (not a Satrapy, granted) and an important city in Sassanid time. The region is clearly in Media. So I am comfortable with this one.

Sabzawaran (c_charolais, PROV657) needs new barony names. The current ones are French (e.g., Mont-St Vincent), and don't fit the area.
Strange. I did a big overhaul of Persian holdings already, and in my version of the SVN, not uploaded for a while (2-3 weeks maybe), the holdings correctly reflect my edits. The barony holdings are called respectively Sabzawaran, Jiroft and Kahnuj.

You may have 2 things in mind:
- If you mean the extra 'virgin' barony holdings, I am aware and that is for 2.0, it was difficult enough to come up with these 3 holding names and we have more higher priorities...
- But if you don't have the names I told you even for the three initial baronies, then probably my edits were erased by a recent upload in the SVN :eek: and I will need to have a look in order to restore my hard work on countless holding names...

Just thought it strange you had those two listed with no changes at all, either localization or de jure.

I didn't check all 3 holdings, but the first definitely had a French name in localization. I'll update those three baronies. Strike that, the one I checked was an unbuilt one.

I uploaded the completed Central Asia 1.0 edits with it in Serindia, so all is done but the barony edits.

Missing localizations and duplicate titles corrected. There might be a few other flags needed, where I just changed localization on some duchy titles rather than giving them new tags.

Waou great!

Small glitches:
- Kârmânia should be in K-Pârsa, not Media
- The Kinfdom for Persia should be Pârsa, not Aryana
- Khorasan appears as "K-Khorasan"
- Chach appears as D-Chach; idem for Almatu

So now that I can see the de jure map some things strike me that I could not see in an excel spreadsheet. In particular, Baktria is too big. I suggest: Margiana (D) -> Khorasan (K). Beside this, we can live with a large de jure Baktria I guess, most of is large desert provinces anyway so it is largely a visual thing (still too many holdings but that's to be tweaked later).

There is a problem around the Ouroumieh Lake. To Fix it, and this makes sense lore-wise, let's inegrate the Duchy Kurdistan into Media.

Finally I made a typo on Kuhandiz, it should belong to the Duchy of Badashan (modern Badakhshan, the same Badakhshani culture on both sides of the Amu Darya making the Tajik - Afghan border nowadays, a very distinct region with its own culture dating from millenia, and the same geological features)

What is the implication of missing flags? Only cosmetics right?

Fixed all noted problems. Yes, missing flags just affects cosmetics... flags get assigned to the wrong polities starting with the first title with a missing flag, and some end up with black flags.
