The major change for the 1.3 patch was to reduce the spy entries in the inc files to one line (for the nation that the inc file is for), and to copy in the new text entries from scenario_text.csv (all the spy messages) & text.csv (only 2 lines here, that refer to mouse overs on $, now showing Intelligence cost). Additionally, you need to update the misc.txt file with the new lines from the 1.3 patch, otherwise things will be out of order and may produce some weird results. I think that was pretty much it, in terms of minimum necessary changes to get an existing mod to run with 1.3.

Hi,

Progress is lsow but steady. We'll start 1.3 compliant testing later this week and if it goes well we'll have an RC ready to test shortly after that. At best a couple of weeks more, though if anything comes up it will be at least a month and possiblly much longer depending on the fix required.

I feel sorry for CORE, dying the death of a thousand cuts. Thanks for working on it, but it's almost irrelevant now with HOI3 around the corner.

Not all is lost, i bet 80% of CORE can be copy pasted to HOI3 without a change.

Mechanics, AI etc... nope it will not be so easy. Maybe events can stay but we need to wait at least half year before first CORE for HoI3.
I dont play HoI2 anymore so dont check how will last CORE work. Im also sure it will come out after HoI3 so the whole work is for nothing IMO. It is a year since the work started IIRC? Too much...

Add tech tree and balance and you have another half year estimating from its last progress.

Well, how much mods whose aim is improving the historical WW2 experience?7?8?IMHO,for HoI3 it would be best for the CORE team to join efforts with the others so a true historical experience mod can once be really finished...Fernando Torres is already preparing such a project with the Mod33 guys...

This .40 update isn't cancelled is it?

Not by any means... We're currently testing Release Candidate #2, which has been modified to support the 1.3 patch. The latter will probably result in a need for a Release Candidate #3 as it does introduce some unwanted side effects, but based on the initial reports the #1 major issue that prevented us from releasing seems to be addressed sufficiently. So it's final adjustment and tinkering at this stage.

Ok because a lot of what the people were saying above was giving me the impression that they stopped updating CORE. I'm glad this isn't the case! :D

I'm confident we will, based on the current state the Beta is in. :)

A couple of weeks at the very least... We will have to adress some issues that crept in due to the 1.3 patch. but giving accurate time frame estimates for 0.4.0 have proved to be a killer, as Beta cycles tend to last a month or more. The volume of files we need to modify each cycle is massive. If I were able to give a more accurate timeframe I would be the first to do so. But it looks like we're - finally - getting to the end of the Beta cycle.

Hi,

At this point the main hold up is getting the final 1.3 patch in place. Once we have that we may be able to finish in 2 weeks if all goes well and it doesn't break anything new.

Is there a change log available for 4.0? If not, can a small list of major changes be listed?

CORE is my favorite mod-I'm going through "withdrawals" waiting for this new version. I've installed the 1.3 patch and am going to give 3.2 a whirl-I hope it works.
