I think I've found a pretty good generic propaganda poster for any minors that don't deserve or didn't have posters of their own. Entitled "Over the Top" by John Nash, depicting a group of soldiers rising out of the trenches into the open.

Hmm...that might be a decent replacement for the default one.

I'm also looking for a better Austro-Hungarian one. Looking for one that looks "cool" and is patriotic, something besides "We're in trouble, give money!" which seems to be the theme of most of the AH posters.

Even if it was "Our soldiers are brave and great, give money!", it would be an improvement.

Besides 'We're in trouble, give us money' doesn't count as propaganda, its truthful!

Another Sousa Lopes painting:

A gunner trying to destroy the piece so the enemy doesn't get it.

This one looks more dramatic, but maybe a "we're losing" poster isn't what's expected... :)
Edit: But then, it seems completely irrealistic, so that fits well with propaganda... ;)

:) I've known that picture for years (history textbook) and only now have I figured out what the guy is trying to do. But then, I'd never thought about it too much... So yeah, I agree with it being "harder to figure out".

And I didn't mean "use this instead", it's just an alternative, providing you with some choice.

I actually like the other one better, too. The soldiers are in CEP uniform (the gunner is too, but it's hard to tell)and they look all noble and ready to fight. (poor guys ;)) Plus, it's much easier to tell what's going on in the picture... :)

Sorry for bugging in,but wanted to ask one think:can you provide any links to this artist's work?
As for the poster project, let me tell you its a major contribution.I think a new icon and frontend are needed(that would probably be produced from a poster).

For the generic/minors poster, what do you think about that famous one with the two children asking their father "What did you do in the Great War, daddy?"

The question would be pretty relevant to the player of the mod, too...

It's not too easy to find, and it's mostly portuguese pages... But then, they're paintings, right? :)

Looked around, but apart from those two paintings (they're part of a 7 painting batch, but I couldn't find the others) there's these three. His name was Adriano de Sousa Lopes, you can try looking him up some more. (One hint, include -.br if you google or you'll find a lot of pages with exams results... ;) )

Yet another Sousa Lopes. Yeah, I know, but I just can't help myself... :p

This one has a portuguese flag, but then it might be a bit strong for propaganda.

Oh! Title: Funeral of the Unknown Soldier

Can't the Mexican rebels be given a better name than 'Mexican Rebels' - it does sound a bit crap doesn't it?

I can hardly say I'm thrilled to find that 'Mexican Rebels have annexed Mexico', only for the country to be called 'Mexican Rebels' for the next ten years....

I just think it needs a bit of dash and vigour...

any alternative names?
