LOL, looks to me like they had planned on a second patch when they got back, but found the Homeless bug being a larger pain than expected and instead of making a second patch, which could not be completed because they found it to be more work than anticipated in August, so when Sept came around, out pops, "Oh the second patch was already released", so they backtracked and said the second patch already came out. That's what it looks like to me.

So doing a hotfix is now considered a major patch, Good to know.

I wonder if like they did with Econ 2.0 and Detailers Patch #1, whether they’ve opted to do parallel development for the homeless fix (to release it sooner) and continue the to work on other items, patches, etc for a later release in September/october.

These decisions are consistent with community feedback about wanting faster updates and more frequent updates.

I’m not sure what folks are upset by here. There’s obviously more patches coming.

People are upset that it's been almost a year and we still don't have custom assets besides barebones cobbled together repurposed ones (which, to be clear, I appreciate, but they're a bandage not a cure) and we've heard absolutely nothing on the region packs, creator packs, and comprehensive asset import that we need to build the diverse and unique cities that they actually sold the game on, and are still selling the game on.

They still haven't announced or given us an update on the Public Beta for asset editing that they mentioned in JANUARY was set for this fall.

No disagreement on anything you’ve laid out. Those are fair points of critique and reasonable reasons for why players remain frustrated.

I meant that I don’t understand the folks who are upset by a timeline shift that favored the players (i.e; DP#1 releasing earlier than CO anticipated) and therefore the first patch post summer wasn’t huge or DP#2.

I wonder, if there won't be any other patch soon, what about the announced DLCs (Modern Architecture and Urban Promenades) ?
The shop page still lists them for Q3 2024 - but Q3 already ends in 3 weeks, so there should be at least some kind of update soon (either information or content)

To be fair to people, I think part of the problem is that the simulation is still very buggy. Consequently, the "major patches" don't feel as major as they should (if the simulation was running smoothly, the mood and feedback would be different). I think CO will have trouble getting positive feedback until asset import work, as well as the simulation bugs and the simulation speed are back to something more reasonable.

Also, CO's communication style tends to generate a "Streisand effect," which riles up the forum on certain topics (IMHO, the forum would be more tame if CO/PDX answered some questions head-on).

If you'll reread the first page of replies, you'll see I explained at least twice why this is an issue even if we got the intended content already.

I will do so again.

I tell you I have a present for you this thursday. I tell you I have a present for you next thursday.

This thursday, I give you a present. Saturday, I give you an unexpected bag of candies. Sunday through Wednesday you anticipate Present 2. Thursday comes and there is no present. On sunday you ask where's Present 2?

I say "Oh, I gave you Present 2 last saturday. Did you not understand that, even though I made no attempts to clarify it?"

Am I in the wrong for or not telling you this or are you in the wrong for expecting me to do what I said I was going to do when I said I was going to do it, and not magically figuring out that I had already done it? Are you or are you not disappointed you spent a week wondering what present 2 would be, only to find out you already had it? Could I or could I not have communicated more clearly?

Everyone understands what you're saying, we just don't think it's that big of a deal. On the scale of things you can criticize Colossal Order for (of which there are MANY) this patch scheduling issue doesn't rank.
