Is there something odd about the distances in the Arctic Sea?

As Soviets, I built a task force of nothing but 1940 destroyers, 2000 km range. They cannot reach one tile, not one tile into the Norwegian Sea. I have Murmansk but not Petsamo. The tooltip mentions one of the nearest ports is owned by Finland at ~1400 km, so presumably that is Petsamo. I'm certain Murmansk is not 600 km away from Petsamo.

On a real map I would estimate 2000 km would reach all the way to Bergen at least.

FWIW, I am not at war and so presume Kattegat/Skagerrak shouldn't be blocked. Can't reach the Norwegian Sea that way either. Wikipedia says the Baltic sea is 1601 km long, whatever that means.
The ships are docked in that northern area correct?

Range is usually distance from last port.

I spawned them in Murmansk (no, not Black Sea, not Vladivostok, not Leningrad) and they happily reach the Arctic Sea and run the convoy escort mission there if that's what you mean. But no, I did not specifically try to dock them up.

Seems strange but maybe I've seen similar weird stuff in the Pacific Islands areas. If they are doing the missions that's what counts.

Does infantry bonuses also apply to special forces (mountain infantry)?
If it specifically mentions 'infantry', with the picture of just the 'infantry' type helmet, then it is only infantry. But if it is 'leg infantry', with the icon you can mouse over to get a list of battalions/companies it actually applies to, it would apply to the sorts of things in that category, like mountaineers.

Thank you! So if I understand you correct "infantry leader" does not provide any bonuses to mountain infantry at that applies to "Infantry divisions"?

I knew I should have asked what sort of 'infantry' bonuses you were talking about. Because my reply was about those granted by technologies/doctrines.

'Infantry' as used by officer traits like 'infantry leader', operate on the 'composition block' you can find in the designer. The red lines help draw attention to the point of interest.

This example, using the 1936 default german mountaineer division, indicates that mountaineers count as infantry (and also special forces).

Is the Coordinates Strike operation worth pursuing? From what I understand, the initial Port Strike or Strategic Strike that you have aircraft assigned to will run 2 times immediately without any air defense?

What's the likelihood of that being worthwhile?

Thank you for the comprehensive reply!

...That's kind of the problem. They don't reach the sea areas I want them to operate in. They can't do missions in the Norwegian coast or the area north of it.

Hello comrades,
is it possible to bypass a guarantee through a NAP?

Specifically: Can I take Albania without being at war with Italy? I need until the end of 39 to take Bulgaria, Turkey and Romania with Greece. By that time, Albania is already annexed. I cannot afford a war with Italy until then. Before the subjugation, Albania could certainly be taken along the way.

I see that it isnt possible to nap Italy.

I have two questions and have not found answers yet, so maybe someone can help me.

1) Is it worth to add minesweeping destroyers to my main task force wich I use to fight with enemy fleets? Would it reduce penalties from enemy mines (eg. chance to hit a mine or speed debuff reduction)? Or I should use them separately just for minesweeping?

2) If I play as historical Soviet Union, is it possible to get Poland in Commintern after defeating Germany? Just to have it as historical puppet. Do not want to start a round against allies with their foothold so close to my borders.

It would, if there were penalties to speak of. Recently speed debuff was removed, so mines are rather harmless at the moment. Can still be useful for getting superiority, I suppose.
