How do I transport troops overseas? I don't see a way to make transports like the previous games.
They must go from one naval base to another. Right click

Is there a way to create a new template without duplicating one?

No, but that's to avoid letting noobs screw themselves by doing so. It's much cheaper to create a new one by duplicating a similar one and switching out the necessary unit types.

Yes and no. The only time you get a completely new division is if you research a new unut type you don't have.

from watching the stream i've seen France starts with some negative maluses.

but this one, disjointed government

political_power_cost = 0.8
unity_factor = -0.10

i understand that it loses 10% NU but what is with the political cost? everything cost 80% more?

The battle planner is driving me crazy. I want one big frontline, with several smaller fronteline to use as "jump-of" points for my invasion. But after creating the big frontline, it wont let me create any others along the same line... do you have to get a new Army for each frontline?

How do I zoom in and out without using a mouse wheel? I don't have a mouse wheel on my laptop.

Checkout autohotkey script you can just make a custom keyboard map to simulate mouse scroll up and down

#1 How can I edit save file like in HoI3 ? I opened the new one in notepad++ and it's unreadable. I really liked to play around in the save file.

#2 Is there some kind of limitation or penalty like in HoI3 when cancelling an attack on a province and then immediatly attack another one ? In hoi3 its was called something operation level organisation and it was in hours between attacks.

Has HOI just turned into one big RTS?

Seriously .. "Select a bunch of divisions, click a button to turn them into an Army and then click on Paris. Hit Go." .. is that what it's come to?

Where's my OOB? I'd spend hours sorting out my divisions, my Corps, my Armies and Army Groups .. Now I just click and drag over a bunch of stuff on screen and then select "Go On Then". Where has my immersion gone?

I'm considering a game I haven't tried before, namely keeping the UK out of war with Germany while trying to ensure war between Germany and USSR through diplomacy/espionage. That way I can hopefully concentrate on maintaining UK's colonial ambitions and avoid bankruptcy. Am I wasting my time? Is there a way to create an isolationist faction? Is a continental War inevitable with Fascism? I rarely played HOI3 as UK and when I did I followed the traditional political stance. It'll obviously be a pretty boring game it's mainly out of curiosity I'd like to try it.

How can I trade resources away for civil factories? Importing seems to be straightforward, but how to export?
(Playing Peru and sitting on 9 oil)

Edit: I see I am exporting 6 oil to Japan for 1 civil factory now... but I never approved this... is it all automated? :eek:

Can I move ships between fleets? Right now I am forced to merge the two fleets and completely rebuild them inorder to move one ship..
Click and drag the ship icons between fleets, but both fleets must be at same port.

Keeping with the naval theme, are there still penalties for having fleets that exceed a certain size? I didn't see anything similar to HOI3's hull size in the ship stats posted on the wiki, so I'm wondering if HOI4 gives a lot more flexibility on fleet composition.

I ended up doing this, but I did it using my steam controller and big picture. Feels kind of weird playing a tactical game with a controller, but I am getting used to it quickly.
