Here's the situation.
I annexed Austria through the Anschluss as Germany. I inherited Austria's divisons. They differ from my division.
Is there a way for me to update the divisons that I inherited from Austria to my current templates?
Any division can have its template changed to another existing template, at any time.
Either select the division and click the arrows button or for a group of divisions click same button at the top of the unit panel.
The button has two arrows in an oblong circle shape.

So, I'm playing Italy (continuing from the tutorial) and I have researched (and am even producing!) the 1936 fighter planes. However, when I go to an airbase to form new air wings, it seems my interwar fighters are still being produced somehow as the number keeps growing...

Any ideas? The only thing that comes to mind is that maybe as I'm "upgrading" the fighters in my existing air wings it is sending the old interwar fighters to reserves rather than destroying?

Yes your fighter wings are upgrading and sending the old planes back to reserves

Is there a way to tell when your Army is ready to execute a battleplan without hovering over the army in question?

Depends; if you have them selected, preparation is one of the blue bars next to their XP bar & entrenchment bar, on the left side. (Assuming you meant besides hovering over the Activate plan button on top of the army portrait at the bottom and looking for the "-20% still preparing")

- What's the ideal army composition? It seems the limit is 24 for generals, and unlimited for field marshals?
- Should paratroopers, marines, and other specialized units be their own army group?
- During peacetime, I have 1 division of infantry taking attrition in a province... I'm confused.
- Should all civilian and military production facilities be focused on production, or is it beneficial to have a few idle?
- Is it ideal to build production facilities to their limit in all provinces? Same question applies to Infrastructure as well.

Is there an easy way to compare the stats of equipment, planes & ships other than manually inspecting each item seperatly while trying to remember everything?

Question.

How i can put 2 pieces of equipement to compare on the research screen? I already saw someone do it on youtube but can´t repeat the process.

1-> Really depends on your necessity. Just remember to stay under the number limit (24 generals/ infinity field marshals) . Generals upgrade faster.

2-> If you can afford a general/Field M. Just for them sure. This way you will not confuse yourself sending paratroopers somewhere and find out half your army can´t do that order.

3-> Atrittion works even on peacetime. Got the same problem with Brazil. Just send the unit to someplace with high infrastructure.

4-> Nop. Make them work 100% of the time, no benefit staying idle.

5-> Yes. If you can afford go for the limit. Just remember the limit works for almost everything. (Industry both civilian and military, Dockyards, radars, refinerys, nuclear plants).

So you need to becareful to not use max slots on a province you wish to build some radars for example. Some tech increase the maximum amount (20% each until 100%).

Yeah, that's what I meant. I need to load up the game again and check. Thanks.

Just to add... Seems like it might be ideal for Field Marshals to take the bulk of the infantry and advance in a broad line. Use the generals for Breakthrough armies - tanks that sort of thing, so you can push them through the line a bit more.

YMMV though. I've been having trouble getting the battle planner to accept attacks from multiple areas without making smaller armies for whatever purpose I need them for y'know?

Not quite what I was after. I wanted to have divisions support the attack but remain in their province instead of moving to the one they are attacking.

I eventually noticed the tool tip that says you need to ctrl click to perform a support attack.

Try Cntrl-Right -click.

OK How do I only use one kind of fighter from an Airbase? I am talking about the airfield in Malta I have spitfires assigned there then I bump up the number to like 600 and it fills the stack out with crappy prewar fighters which Italy is murdering.

Edit: I changed the priority of reinforcements to highest and now it is replacing them with the best but still there should be a way to only send the best or maybee destroy all the old some how

It will always use the best fighters you have available. If it's pulling interwar fighters then you don't have enough spitfires available. Are they deployed somewhere else? Use the air overview in the top right of the screen to help find air wings which you maybe don't need to have deployed to free up some good fighters.

You can also prioritize that air wing by changing the dot on the right from orange to green. This will give them the best fighters available instead of spreading the spitfires among all your air wings.

I accidentally pressed a few keys and now my borders are gone. I've restarted the game and I still have no borders. Anyone know how to turn them back on?

Am I missing something here? How do I not meet the requirements?

At a guess you need to literally have that much manpower in the field. As in on the actual map, I don't think the focus counts the manpower being used to build/train new divisions(but I believe the manpower tool-tip does include the build/train queue).

from watching the stream i've seen France starts with some negative maluses.

but this one, disjointed government

political_power_cost = 0.8
unity_factor = -0.10

i understand that it loses 10% NU but what is with the political cost? everything cost 80% more?
It means that you lose 0.8 Political power each day (so base 2 - 0.8 = +1.2 per day).

What's the deal with infrastructure? Should I max them out in every province?

If you have nothing else to build sure I guess.
Otherwise its used to up your supply limits, so you need more the more divisions you have in the area.

Two questions:

- Battleplan bonus, cannot find it in battle windows when a battle is starting. Should be displayed as modifier? Where is it shown when a battle is going on?

- Crossing river modifier, etc... did not see terrain modifiers in battle window. Shouldn´t these shown here as a modifier for the two armies?
