#1 How can I edit save file like in HoI3 ? I opened the new one in notepad++ and it's unreadable. I really liked to play around in the save file.
So... Does anyone have info about this and knows how to edit the save file?

Terrain modifiers are shown on each divisions bar in the combat window. If you still can't find them I'll try to grab a screenshot later (damn work). Two questions:
- Battleplan bonus, cannot find it in battle windows when a battle is starting. Should be displayed as modifier? Where is it shown when a battle is going on?
- Crossing river modifier, etc... did not see terrain modifiers in battle window. Shouldn´t these shown here as a modifier for the two armies?
Couple of questions.
1)I've added Field Hospital, MP, and Logistics to the template for my infantry, but it doesn't seem like the units want to upgrade. The Recruit and Deploy tab has 0/796 equipment to upgrade, but the number on the left doesn't increase.
EDIT: I think I figured this out. The additional upgrades costed extra manpower, of which I currently have none.
2)Playing as Liberia and I've unlocked Synthetic Fuel Plant. All my factories are either taken by Civilian or Military Factories. Is there any way to get a free slot to build the Synthetic Fuel Plant in?
How can I allow the US (the country I am playing) to attack Mexico?
IOWs, I don't know how to change my country to Fascist or Communist, which I think is the prereq. to go to war with others...correct?
And, let me sneak in another question/comment: It appears to me that we can choose who, and how much we can import resources from, but it appears that the player has NO control of how much and to whom you can export to; it appears automatic?
Regards,
Marc

What button do I need to press in order for recruiting divisions to get auto-assigned to a front after their built?
I am trying to assign units for multiple naval invasions from japan to china. I have 10 marine divisions in south korean port that are under 1 general and he has 2 naval invasion arrows with 5 assigned to each arrow. When I tried to assign a third arrow from a third port it said I had reached my maximum of 10 allowed. So I created another army group with a new general with units in an unused port on japan proper and I again get this rule that I've exceeded my naval invasion limit of 10. Are we not allowed to do more than 10 units in a naval invasion at a time? I'm not doing the same destination or origin ports all are seperate port pairs and the second general only has 4 divisions while the one with 2 active naval invasions has 10 divisions between two invasions. What am I doing wrong or is there an actual limit?
Was just about to come back and delete my post because I figured out what I was doing wrong. Regardless, thanks for the info! And in case this helps anyone else, the game doesn't exactly tell you the precise location or front you might be trying to direct it to. It just shows you the color of the army you're directing your troops to and that's it.Little button just left of the big bar that you use to assign divisions to provinces.
Their mission efficiency.Yellow is medium, red is very low.

How does frontage work in HoI IV? I see it mentioned, but can't find anything substantial on it in the Wiki.
Supposedly there is 40 slots per border between two provinces, modified by terrain (how much?). Each line battalion takes a slot and dukes it out with another? So in your division design you want to maximize this (aka having 10 line battalions per division, or 20)?
