You, probably, just click on an existing order, which starts to edit it instead of creating a new one - kind of wonky: I still do it myself nearly 5% of the time. Generally, it works exactly as you describe; I prefer to set up all orders then assign divisions, though.

Tried "H"? As for redirection: it works exactly the same as your move order (provided divisions actually at sea); except with naval transfers you always have to click port.
HmJ_JP, that Q was about naval invasions. AFAIK a naval invasion cannot be ordered except as (a sort of) army offensive.

Thanks for answer re port-to-port movement.

What effects Influence Future Cantons? I can't seem to get it above 37% execpt 2 provinces far from the border. I have literally every man in a division, made a bunch of tiny divisions, and yet I can't get it over.

I have failed on the same province now 5 times in a row and it is getting frustrating. I frankly really hate RNG... also found it can't be save scummed.

My goodness I got 1200 divisions as Switzerland in a regular mode as a test. Still a 33% chance.

I spent over 2 hours just repeating the mission before I got a single province. This is easily the single most frustrating mechanic I have seen in this game. It feels like playing a stupid gacha game.

I... think I am going to take another break from HOI4 because I am getting super nettled as my current percentage is 4% on a 33-37% roll*.

2% now. 108 attempts to flip. 4 successful ones.

I feel like something is MAJORLY wrong here. Please note I literally did the full 90 days each time. I actually downloaded the game on a second computer to test it out.

That being said... like I said I need to take a break because being locked at basically 0 PP due to the high expenditures, plus the frustration of failure after failure after failure, it was a bit.

Not to mention the fatc there is no tooltip explaining why some provinces are, allegedly, easier to flip than others.

Successful flips: Piedmont (12 tries), Baden-Wurt (1!!! try), Frankfurt (20 tries), the province north of it (24 tries). Moseland I tried over 30 times and never flipped once.

Every time it said I had 33% or higher chance to flip.

My understanding is that field marshals commanding individual armies will use their general traits at full effect, but their field marshal traits* not at all.

*There may be an exception for traits which increase skill points, like "Offensive Doctrine" adding +1 attack. AFAIK the attack value is not reduced for an offensive doctrine field marshal in a general's job.

Basically they won't get the core benefit of a FM trait, but if there are other benefits they will.

If some mod gives an officer +1 defense on top of the normal bonuses from defensive doctrine trait, you'll still get the +1 in the general slot.

If it's anything related to tactics chance it actually only applies in the general slot though.

it's worth mentioning that tactics increases are a general-only modifier, including those that come from field marshal only traits.
(at least when i tested it, but i highly doubt pdx fixed that in the two years since)

How to support an attack and not move to distination province when fight is won and over with supported units (like it was possible in HOI3)?
Select your attacking unit. Hold the Control (CTRL) key down and single-click on a unit in the tile you wish to support attack. A blue (rather than red) arrow should indicate the supporting (but not moving) action.

For anyone curious about Switzerland, because I tried again today as it was irking me:

Percentages lie.

I did it again, this time without Historical Focuses.

Every single time I did it I got a state to flip. I didn’t have enough PP I was flipping so many!

I am going to test it again in a couple of days as now I’m doing a cross country drive, but I want to see if unit numbers even change anything.

Long story short:

Yesterday, displayed percentages on historicalnof 33-37%- roughly 4% success rate.

Today, displayed percentages of 33-37% without historical- literally 100% success rate.

Unfortunately Germany invaded me when I had 300 2 width divisions and they melted like butter. Regardless, just an FYI.

Don’t trust the stated chances AT ALL.

But it is really helpful. I was thinking about this option forever and hadn't discovered it yet...
Same for me quite a while ago - and I got that info from an earlier post in this thread, IIRC. I could imagine that many players see this thing first in a Lets Play or so, than find somehow out it is called Support Attack and than a search for the question how to do it takes them to this thread.

Unknown command. Is it new in 1.13? delete autocompletes to deleteallunits and help wing does not yield anything.
Seems like it's a new thing that we did somewhere during AAT.
I'm the meantime I guess you can do something like

every_country = {
transfer_units_fraction= {
target = BHU
size = 0
stockpile_ratio = 0
army_ratio = 0
navy_ratio = 0
air_ratio = 1
}

In a decision or an eval_effect

Quick question about supplies: I stationed an army near Belgium but am in war only with Germany.
It seems some convoys are needed between my two harbors: what are my options to avoid this risky non-sense? Increase the railways level from capital as below? Or just add one section until the northern harbor?
Don't want my convoys sunk, I don't need that bait anymore as my navy is somewhere else now.

Edit: just added one section, as option 2, and that was enough.

Yes the game for some reason always seems to priortize ship based logistics for some bizzare reason so unless the train stuff is better it will never use it.
