Re-Install Issue

I got problem while trying to reinstall HOI Platinum.

When playing HOI I got the problem that my scenarios wouldn't load (made some modifications without backing up).

so I decided to uninstall HOI but the folder and all the files remained, even tried re-installing with the original file there but no changes were made. So I took the liberty to delete the folder myself, but I found out that I now can't re-install it because when I enter the disc, the only options available are Play and uninstall. And when I press uninstall nothing really changes...

So can someone tell me what I have to do to install my copy of HOI without much problems...

BTW I'm running Windows 98

Sounds like a problem with the registry.

Run regedit.
Save your current registry settings.
Then do a find for Hearts of Iron.
I think theyll be two entries although I cant be 100% sure.
Delete these and then try running again.

Its these that make the setup program think that its already installed.
