Realistic Trips has been updated

  • Added option to configure average shopping time for each resource
In the vanilla game, cims will shop for any resource in an instant. In this update, they won't be in a hurry anymore. Shopping times will vary for each resource. They will shop in a few minutes when they go to a gas station or convenience store, but they will take much longer when going to a restaurant or when buying new furniture or vehicles. It is possible to configure the average shopping time in the mod's menu in the "Shopping and Leisure" tab.

This is a fantastic change that was needed especially with a slow factor.

You are great and I will give you a donation in few hours when I will return home from work.

You deserve it for your efforts, keep up bud ❤️

After a bit of testing it seems that most people with "spending free time" status don't stay enough and just leave immediately. I have all sliders set to 90.

Also noticed that people with "shopping" seem to stay more and be correctly effected by the mod.

Maybe the "spending free time" are a separate group that need the mod to be applied to?

It seems like leisure are divided by 2 categories of people, the "shopping" ones, that go to electronics and furniture shops for example

and the "spending free time" people, that go to restaurants, pubs, etc.

So the mod effects only the first category but not the second.

I have a question about the Special Events - I lowered the attractiveness minimum to 10 so I'll have more public spaces that can host events, though i noticed that when an event is taking place at a generic park placed multiple times around the city, clicking "navigate" cycles through each of them. Does it mean that the event is taking place in all of them or is it just a limitation with the "navigate" button?

Also, a feature request: can we exclude "entertainment" and "beverages" (maybe meals too) from the effects of "disable early shopping or leisure" to give the city a bit of a nightlife? May need to limit the number of trips too so it doesn't make everyone be up late and cause a midnight rush hour

I believe there's an issue with the mod where the settings won't save when you exit to the desktop. Can you please fix this if there's a bug causing this?

It is probably a limitation on the navigate button.

I'll take a look at your suggestion. Thanks

Is it possible to make day longer and night shorter (like RealTime mod in CS1)?
I was initially thinking that this might be simple to do. But now that I'm thinking about it, it is actually more complicated.

The way that I could do it would be to automatically change the slow factor at night so that the night goes faster. But the problem is that would have several unwanted side effects in the city. The slow factor affects the calendar date of a city and changing it changes the cim's ages. So changing it back and forth every day and night would cause several problems.

What you could try, is to use a mod that makes the night brighted and more playable (that is what I do). Or try a mod that changes the climate to have earlier sunrise and later sunsets

After reverting back to 1.6.2, i can confirm that it saves everything normally, but 1.7 does not save anything. It's a bug on the latest version
Are you using another mod that automatically saves and restores settings for all mods (Simple Mod Checker Plus does that). If that is the case, then you need to wait for that mod to be updated to be able to backup and restore the new settings from Realistic Trips.

Hello Ruzbeh, will you extend the features of the last mod patch to the citizens with "spending free time" status? At the moment they just go to a building and leave instantly.

Thank you for all your work

The mod has been updated for the new game version.

Next week I'll work on some new features that have been suggested here, which include: different shopping patterns by time of day, and expand shopping time feature for citizens that go shopping for leisure

I get crashes since the new patch and mod update.

My only 2 mods active are Realistic Trips and l18nEverywhere which I use only because it says it is a dependency.

Crashes to desktop happen very soon after few minutes of playing, before the updates (both official patch and mod ones) it was all fine.

Is there a way where I can send a crash report or dump file or contribute in any way to find the issue?

And ofcourse I have tested with codemods disabled and it doesn't crash, also tested both with a new game and old saves.
