It's time for Balkan dev diary! I've made quite big changes in that region, so it should be more fun than before.
Second Vienna Award, which historically gave northern Transylvania to Hungary, was slightly changed. Hungary now can get all Transylvania, only northern part or nothing. If you favour Romania in SVA, Bulgaria wouldn't ask for Dobrich. Effect? After Barbarossa you can have Greater Romania from Danube to Odessa
Favouring Hungary in SVA would cause two coups in Romania. In the first the coalition of Ion Antonescu and Horia Sima would take power. In the second you could favour supported by Wehrmacht Antonescu (which causes small revolt in Bucharest, Romania would stay in Axis) or supported by SS Sima (Romania would become your puppet, but Romanian army would be severely damaged and revolution would spark in most of Romanian provinces). The choice is yours.
After SVA you would be able to invite Balkan countries to Berlin Pact, which gives you alliance with Hungary and Romania, access to Bulgaria and casus belli against Yugoslavia.
Yugoslavia got much love. Depending on your choices, you can spark Yugoslav Civil War between Croatia and Serbia. Neighbouring countries and great powers have now intervention decisions, which support one of the sides and/or annex part of old Yugoslavia. After end of YCW, the Danubian Conference would happen, which allows you to divide Yugoslavia according to your taste.
Alternatively, you can go historical path, invite Yugoslavia to Axis, wait for anti-Axis coup and invade Yugoslavia. If you delay invasion for too long, YCW could still happen! Of course you can always simply declare war on Yugoslavia.
You have to control all of the Balkans to start Barbarossa, so you have to deal with Yugoslavia anyway - there is no reason to delay it
Regardless of how Yugoslavia fell, you still have to divide it. It works similarly to partition of Benelux and France - you decide the fate of given country region-by-region.
You can become master of puppets...
... create Greater Hungary...
... Greater Croatia...
... Greater Serbia...
... or simply go with historical partition:
All post-Yugoslavia puppets would get enormous level of dissent - I want to make Yugoslavia a 'German Vietnam' with constant war against partisans. Of course there would be multiple events about most important partisan organizations and collaborators, so literally everything you saw in previous versions of REP. Nice addition would be seven historical offensives against Yugoslav partisans. If you survive them, you could go for one final offensive, which destroy all resistance in Yugoslavia.
Occupation of Greece would be pretty regular, with partition between Germany, Italy, Bulgaria and Macedonia (if exists), or puppet Hellenic State. Of course there would be events about partisans, collaboration, bla bla bla
One big change is new integration system. I feel that the old one doesn't encourage to choose it. Now you integrate smaller regions, integration eats money and manpower (instead of IC) and is shorter, though you risk huge revolts in eastern Europe. I've made a map with proposed partition of Europe.
The black outline is German core territory - namely old German Empire + Austria + Sudetenland + German-speaking parts of Switzerland.
The blue outline are Reichsgaus already implemented in REP.
The red outline are Reichsgaus planned for future versions.
The red outline and name with '???' - possible, but not confirmed Reichsgaus.
Freely floating names - I haven't decided the borders of Reichsgau yet (Thule is off-map Iceland and Greenland)
Of course I would be happy to see your opinions and ideas, I'm sure there could be better names for some regions
