I realize this is super old and not being worked on but does anyone know how to get hungry to be a puppet? I understand Romania and Bulgaria but I can't seem to find an event or anything for Hungary for the last reichsgau Banat expansion

just want to know the how many (historical) panzer/automotive/airplane/ship factory should be build ..before 1939?
Wehrmacht deployment for attack on Polen (German wiki)
If you can't read German, what you are looking for is easy enough to find, just count:
Tanks = Panzerkampfwagen (armoured combat vehicle) or short PI, PII, PIII, PIV, Darkest Hour also uses the short form: PzKpfw (which is true German army speak)

LArm-1 = PI (basically a training tank)
LArm-2 = PII (thin can with a 2cm-cannon)
LArm-3 = P 38 (t) (Czech booty armor, comparable to German P III but with better cannon)
Arm-1 = PIII (together with the Czech 38 (t) the first "true" tank)
Arm-2 = PIV (until around 1941 "only" a support tank, then heavily upgraded and the main German MBT for the rest of the war)

The fancy names for tanks started only with PzKpfw. V (Panther), before they all had just plain numbers.

Thanks for the info. But i am reffering to event in this mod to allow us to built Panzer/Automotive/Ship/Airplane Factory .... (will be finished in 360days - and the factory built will reduce the unit construction time by 1% per factory) ... How many factory should be build ?

German production of panzer I-VI incl. Czech (excluded the mass of StuG and similar wich were under infantry command)

[Source: https://www.weltkrieg2.de/deutsche-panzer-produktion/ ... don't know how reliable the source but it looks about right]

You can see that, while Germany was arming up, it was astonishingly far away from a true total war industry for quite a long time into the war, later than the Allies (obviously the Nazis were peaceful guys and forced into the war... just kidding... the Nazis underestimated WW2 by far and also thought it more important to keep the butter on the table of the Germans which they rather mistrusted as not keen on waging war at all... which changed after defeating France, though). The switch and reorganisation to a total war industry happened around 1942 when Albert Speer became armament minister and was propagandistically formally announced in a speech by Goebbels: "Wollt ihr den totalen Krieg?" (18.Feb.1943). At a time when many knew the war was lost...

If you really want to go historically, you can take your clues from that table.

Even then Germany never really achieved the same level of mass industrial production of tanks like the SU or USA. I usually call it the handcrafted Panzer of the German Wehrmacht, although many steps were made to "streamline" the production. On the other hand there were the resource limitation of especially rare earth elements, so that even with much better industrialized mass production the total number of produced tanks might not have been able to surpass the real numbers by a lot. Seen this way, it might be feasible to handcraft high quality tanks with what you have. Additionally with an eye on repairing them over and over again by their own crews, specialists and mobile repair stations.

Comment on 'misleading' battle statistics
In comparison to mass-produced Shermans or T-34s German Panzer got repaired a lot more which also partly explains the huge discrepancies in listed tank losses one might notice when looking at it a bit closer... those stats aren't necessarily wrong but if you own the battlefield and are in the habit of repairing 75% of your 'lost' Panzer after the battle it changes the number of listed losses drastically while at the same time might give the wrong picture of a completly one-sided battle. Hint: Multiply German Panzer losses with about x4 to gain a better battle picture during the Wehrmacht's offensive phase. And perhaps only x2 when the battle was lost for German Panzer but an orderly retreat possible. But don't get overconfident with this rule of thumb, reality was much more complex when also considering lack of fuel or defects to which especially the much-too-famous Panther and Tigers were very prone to in the later war years. Or even near 100% equipment losses or total chaos of whole army groups when overrun by the Red Army like in operation Bagration or vice versa Red Army losses/chaos in the beginning of the war. Take also in account the all too often huge gaps between produced tanks, available tanks and operational tanks (very grizzly example for Panzer Typ IV, V and VI).

Conclusion: Without really diving deep into it, the majority of battle loss statistic will rather misled you/me than giving a true picture. On top of that each army has a different system and procedures how to count, name and account for losses (usually even different within one army for navy, air, inf, tanks). Procedures which often enough might even change several times during the war, be it due to propaganda 'necesseties', changed guidelines or general chaos, broken lines of communications and command. So, we all like statistics but take them with a pound of salt.

edit: some typos; added date Goebbel's speech; links for production, reliability, operational tanks; comment on statistics of tank losses or how unreliable statistics are without much more context

Love the unique experience of this mod. Just a question - how much "gameplay on rails" is it?

I noticed in 1935 you've got decisions to create the Wehrmacht right away - or negotiate with the UK about the size before creation. Can you actually rearm and unite Germany without eventually ending up in having to DOW Poland in 1939? Is this strictly historical or is it possible to e.g. ally with the UK against the Soviets?

Is the "improve relations between countries to get better choices" thing really worth it? While I love the idea, I wonder how much of a change that really makes.

It's not super railroaded in my opinion [I'll have to play it again to give a more detailed explanation]

by the time of the Polish invasion, you can opt to try and intimidate the Allies instead though I've never gone that path, and as for teaming up with the British, I don't think that is an option as of the current version of the mod.

in my experience, there are only a few nations that the diplomacy mechanic matters for i.e. Lithuania for an early puppet, England and France for the colony reclamation path.

hopefully, this has been helpful lol I haven't played this mod since upgrading my pc so off I go to play it

Hi, I downloaded the new version of the expansion, I point out that there are no images of many German generals in the file. I also asked if all the commanders of the divisions who took turns were present for the Waffen SS. Thank you very much and good job.

I think you mixed up the thread @pheonix02 , this is actually about the Reich Expansion mod (which is very much worth a download too)

And I don't think you need a Google Drive account for downloading. I never had to log into anything to download it. Try again.

I really enjoyed playing this mod. I've played it all the way through to after the fall of France and it's been a great time. One question - can anyone tell me in what file the "germany can't control our military" events are located? I want to delete them because i'm running into problems with not being able to mil control allies (ITA especially). My puppets are sending expeditionary forces to ITA and I can't reclaim them because I can't mil control.

Edit - found it, it's in mods-reichs expansion pack - db - events - reichs expansion pack - NS germany - SETUP

I suggest an idea for the Middle East, to add cooperation between the Reich and right-wing Zionists before and during WWII. There were the terrorist groups among the Jewish community in Palestine, the leaders of them were anti-British and wanted to ally with Germany. Irgun and Lehi (aka Stern's Gang) could be a useful allies of the Reich. And then it is possible to create "The State of Judea", which will the Reich's satellite.

A few quick questions regarding this mod:

1.) Some countries appear to have ridiculously low IC, especially when compared to others. Portugal + colonies has 3 while Luxemburg has 13. I suppose that was done for gameplay reasons ...?

2.) Are factories (tank, shipyards, ...) "worth it"? They take up resource but seem to provide very little in return ?

3.) Is there any way to enable unit upgrades being shown at least in the log ? Right now all I get is the sound effect of an upgrade, with no specifics. But it's not even showing up in the log which division has been upgraded, which would be nice to know.
