well, it solves the issue of barbarians sailing the seven seas.
Well, I first solved this by removing all ports... ;)
But I should probably give them back, since the Roman Empire refuses the land in Britain...

And ofcourse tech then has to be adjusted to make them have something like nomad cavalry.
So I think it would be good.
It's changed... tech 0-10 are reserved for barbarian techs... (all other will start att 11 or higher)...

I've uploaded a new version... I guess it is a bit more playable... major fixes are the barbarians (they won't turn on each other as much as they did before)... However, it is FAR from necessary to download it... as it contains everything and is about 1,5 MB size... (and is a .rar)

Interesting, if somewhat unfinished :)

This is supposed to be a Roman Empire mod but it seems that China and India are best represented here... Rome didn't even have a monarch list as far as I could see.

The first time I and another guy started this kind of project we split the work in two parts, western and eastern. I worked with the eastern part and my companion had some problem with his Copmuter (HDD crash if I'm not mistaken). Therefore, almost nothing was done on the western part of the world... lately UBootMan said he would do the Roman monarchs, but it seems he never did...

I have lists that contain the Consulships and dictators of the Republic, along with easy access (internet abounds with them) of the Emperors,

Would be happy to assist.
Please, post them here or post a link...

I also wonder if anyone with interest in the Roman Empire would do their monarchs in-game?

hey kaigon

hi, remember me? i was the one u started the project on. yeah, my computer crashed. and that sucked, now, though, after building myself a new computer after i unsuccessfully tried to fix the other one, im back. and i see u need help with the romans again. i have resources available that give me the exact date of most emperor's death, not to mention their personalities, great generals of the time and stuff like that. Don't worry, either, this time im here to actually help instead of cop-out. sorry about that by the way :(

I haven't read this entire thread, however just in case u have a problem with war exhaustion, i have a solution:

the romans obivously were pretty centralized, yet were very supportive of their troops from gallia to aegyptus. i was thinking about a treaty of torsedillas type thing where the romans can attack without declaring war. i know it's a pretty broad idea that needs some refinement, but i thought i might as well throw it out there.

should any of u have any questions about rome, odds are i know or i can find out. don't hesitate to ask. ill be keeping a watch out.

nice talking to u kaigon, and again, sorry about the whole my-computer-crashed,etc. thingy.

Oh my... I thought you crashed out permanently and lost interest in EU2 and this board...
Welcome back!

However the Tordesillas in not editable... provinces are fixed as well as what nations gain them... however, I used SPA-tag for the Roman Empire, since they will have a CB against all pagans and all moslems (currently only Zoroastrists)...

well there has to be SOME way of editing war exhaustion...that is, if that's a problem at all :)

anyway, like i said, if u have any questions about good ole Roma, don't hesitate to ask...
If WE is a problem, we could just give them -revoltrisk events, like the Saint performs Miracle event...

If your project goes well, this will revive my interest in EU2.

However, have you considered the era of the Roman Republic? Therein lies much juicy stuff to make a challenging and exciting mod, and could easily be incorporated into your mod (I think) Fighting the Punic wars could be great, or the civil war leading to the rise of Augustus. Plus, with the 476 mod it could give a nice, long continuous campaign.

Well, just a comment, keep up the good work. :)

There's a Roman Universalis 2 in the french forum... IIRC, it starts in the third century BC, only problem: it's in french...
And I think that there aren't enough tags to represent the whole era (unless we skip all barbarians as states and giudes them through events)...

I'm making my own roman scenario and i decided to use the following method to fix there not bening enough tags......

break the scenario up into 2 folders.....when a certain date is reached a Eventi s triggers ONLY for a human player that informs them its time to moved the saved game file to the new mod folder.

Goes like this......there are some countries i know won't exist at the time of the change.......ex....Judea,Mauretania,Nabataeu, and the germanic tribes that from the franks-- Charuarii, chamaui bructeri, tencteri

theres 7 new tags there...and im sure there could be more

the new mod folder would be mostly the same but these old countries would have new revolters, shields, and names.

its not a ideal solution.....requires alot of planning ahead and limits the playable counties.

just a suggestion for you guys

I'm not an expert on chinese culture, but from what I know, I would use the GC setup for the areas which were chinese at this time (thus, splitting in han and cantonese).

On the areas that only later became really Chinese in culture, I don't know. I know almost only things in the west.
