Works wonderfully for me and i've made a few custom roads such as a two way six lane highway, and asymmetric 5 lane two way highways (I like using those instead of the separated one-way highways to make parkway like roads). Only thing I wish we could change is the minimum sidewalk width seems to be 3.5M which is crazy wide. I was hoping to make a 4 lane 'narrow' road and was hopeful based on how the game narrows the sidewalks when adding bus stops to the existing 2 lane road, but the mod wont let me narrow the sidewalks quite enough to pull this off in the same footprint.
Looking around a bit more, the most narrow I could make a 4 lane road is 2.4 units wide, the 'standard' 4 lane road is 3 units wide, and the standard 2 lane with parking is 2 units wide. If I could make the sidewalks 2m instead of 3.5m it would be great (thats still almost 6 US feet wide, which is wider than most US sidewalks TBH).

Also tried to make a 6 lane asymetric road with 4 lanes in one direction and 2 in the other and its oh so close to 3 units wide, 3.1 units. Same game if I could just take a foot from those massively wide sidewalks!

It matters because its treating these roads as the next up in class (the narrow 4 lane is snapping to the normal 4 lane zoning grid, and the 6 lane asymmetric is snapping to the normal 6 lane zoning grid) but i'm trying to build them for the smaller road class zoning grids to be upgradable segments. Otherwise, they do work very well which is amazing and hopefully more customability in sidewalk width can be in a future update.

loading a save from someone that has made roads with this mod causes some weird behavior on the map, certain roads are not ligned up, and some have what looks like holes in them making them look like it has no ground but water beneath them, you can see that specially on the map from cityplanner that he uploaded just look at the highway and you will see a piece of broken road and when you look further down that road you will see the holes in the road. Also in some sections underground pipes for like water and sewage are missing. Poplar Stream 6 was the map from cityplanner that has the road issue

After installing this mod my game won't start anymore. I also installed some assets so I was not sure what stopped the game from loading. But since this a Beta version of Road Builder I tried it anyway to see if it was the cause. And it was. It's a pity, I have several YouTubers seen using it and I have bee looking forward to this mod. But for now it simply won't allow me to start up the game. So that also makes it hard to guess which other mod is probably in confict with Road Builder.

Maybe Traffic Lights Enhancement ? I spent half a day and got this answer. My game crashed over and over again when I tried to launch it until I disabled the TLE. Hope for the compatibility of them.

Had the same problem. It would crash the game and then i disabled traffic light enhancer. Didnt have the problem with the alpha version

I have the exact same issue. Game was working fine. Then I downloaded this mod and restarted the game and it won't even load to the main menu anymore. I'm still excited to use the new mod but for now I unfortunately am unable to.
That solved my problem. I uninstalled Traffic Light Enhancer and now the game starts fine. Also the mod icon is visible in the left corner. Also I read in some of the comments here that some people remove the Gooee mod, but that mod is required for displaying the icons of (all) mods. Skyve says it's broken, but in fact it is not.

I am quoting the wrong person, and you cannot edit or delete previous post. Anyway, your suggestion helped, uninstalling the Traffic Light Enhancer worked and the Road Builder mod is now working. Much appreciated for the suggestion. (These are things Skyve does not help you with).

Loving the mod, I really needed this. Appreciate all your hard work. If I could have one suggestion it would be to allow subways as well as trains. I know the subways are a pain to work with and don't play nicely with roads, but a dude can dream.

Thanks again for all the hard work!

Agreed, another vote here for reducing sidewalk minimum. The wide sidewalks have always bothered me. Standard US sidewalks are around 6 feet with a curb, so a 2m wide sidewalk would improve the proportions and look of the roads.

Love the mod btw :)

Great work, although I have a couple of wishes:
  • Make it easier/possible to make integer-width roads. A two-lane, three-unit road? Maybe there's a way, but I think it's always either slightly less or slightly more than three units. A four-lane, two-unit road? Not happening, although that's more of a minimum width issue. The whole thing is important because it relates to upgradability of roads without destroying buildings.
  • Make it possible to have roads that don't get saved to the road menu (or 'anonymous roads', if you will). I suspect there are going to be many places where I'd like some fairly unique road configuration and probably never use it again, and I'd like to keep my road menu as clutter-free as possible. For me, if the choice is between the perfect road and a clutter-free menu, I'll probably pick a clutter-free menu.
I can be a fairly... organized player, so for me personally these are quite big deals, and make me unlikely to use the mod. I don't wish to make any demands, of course - just some friendly suggestions (assuming the game allows them of course, which I'm not sure is the case). Anyway, thanks for the great work, even if it isn't a good fit for me personally at the moment!

Adjustable zoning depth offset might also solve some of the width issues. I wouldn't mind building a 2.9-unit wide road and later upgrading it to a 3-unit wide road, if zoning for the 2.9-unit wide road worked as if the road was 3 units wide. It'd still be fairly unclean to build a 3.1-unit wide road, for example, and then continue it as a 3-unit wide road, but adjustable zoning depth offset would at least solve the upgrade issue. Of course I'd still prefer a solution that lets me have the integer-width roads that I want, but hey, the zoning thing is another suggestion.

Same issue to me. I've created new profile with only this one mode, started new game but there is no button appears at the left top corner. Also I set a shortcut combination, but when I press it - it switches on/off underground mode (regardless of the keys - so it is not a conflict).
Please advise

I figured it out. Installed skive and created new profile from it. Reset all caches, removed all mods with warnings according to the Skive recommendations.
Now I can see icons.

Thanks for your hard work! Appreciate it so much!
