Royal Court Patch Information

I play this game on console every single day. Please fix the crashing issue. The game was almost perfect until the Royal Court DLC. These are the issues that I’m experiencing the most.

1. Game crashes while saving (causing entire save files to be lost)
2. Music/Audio Glitches or skipping
3. No Tool Tip finger inside of the Royal Court
4. Random crashing during gameplay
5. Retract vassals function broken


You’ve created a great game paradox please don’t let these console issues destroy everything you’ve built this far… i almost want to give up playing.

The biggest issue is actually the self-deleting saves bug that ruins Ironman runs. It has been present since launch on console and hasn't been fixed to this day.

PS: Thanks for making that list. Those are all the main problems indeed. And none were fixed by the recent patch.

  10. Commander skills and traits no longer appear when selecting a new commander. All that appears is an ellipsis
  11. Can not access tool tip to view modifiers and bonuses of decisions when in your royal court
  12. Settings are reset every time the game is closed and loaded up again.
  13. Turning off auto-save does not work. The game continues to auto-save regardless of the setting you select
  14. The game screen occasionally flickers or flashes lightly however this somewhat unnoticeable.
  15. Dynasty Tree appears to delete dynasty members or not display them when using a custom character.

Great idea and I think we could comment on the bugs that we are seeing so that you can make a list and if you want you can edit your message so that they are all together. The ones I've seen:

16. When going through the troops tab, the message always jumps as to how you want your army to move, manual or automatic.
17. In the titles you own menu, it doesn't really let you see the titles you own, you can only see your main title. (old bug)
18. Sometimes the selector is lost and the options of some window cannot be selected. (old bug)
19. In court, he doesn't let you take out the pointer to see the information of the events. (Royal Court DLC)
20. The information of the titles and rights that you have in the window of your character is displayed and you cannot use the pointer to put it on top so you can see it quickly. (old bug)
21. When you select the Educate Kindred option, you always select yourself if you have not reached the limit of pupils and you do not have the option to change your Educator for another, which means that you have to look for a character in question and choose there. option. (old bug).

I don't think I have found more, if they come up I will comment on them.

Bro, i play on Series S too and i experienced almost all of the bugs you mentioned. It doesn’t matter the date, the starting character, if you play the game for more than one hour (if doesn’t crash), you’ll experience most of the bugs and glitches you mentioned.

I find hard to believe when some PDX dude told us that the bugs are difficult to replicate. If the developers actually try to PLAY the game, they’ll see every bug you mentioned. PDX, the bugs might be hard/tricky to fix, but don’t tell us that it’s difficult to replicate them.

Yeah, I've experienced all of those issues at some point; they are quite an annoyance considering that the Royal Court DLC was released about a month ago and most, if not all, of the bugs still remain. Not to mention, at least for me, the court position menu and the culture menu freeze while I'm trying to navigate them, as does the character inventory menu. So I just hope that a patch comes soon where all of these problems are fixed and I can actually play the game.

I agree with the other recent posters today and yesterday, this is response is is unacceptable.

We have been posting bug reports, posting here and in the forum about our problems since the release of Royal Court a month ago and there has been little response. These issues are not difficult to find, turn on a Xbox or ps5 and play for a short time, try to save a game, you will see the problems.

Xbox users received one patch that from what I understand did not fix any problems but added more. PlayStation users have not had any attempted fix just a vague “one will be coming soon”. Communication from Paradox on this has become less and less which is making console players more frustrated.

This is your game Paradox, show that you give a damn. Take charge of fixing the console edition and communicating with users about what is going on.

I play on series S. Any time I form a kingdom and create a hybrid culture, the game goes from crashing every other year to every year. Saving the game crashes the game and so does manual saving. Some of these crashes delete entire saves. The game is unplayable for me. The game is unplayable way after release.
 
By the way, this game needs way more patchs on consoleS than just something to fix the mess done by Royal Court. It is obvious that this game is not stable enough, there are still a lot of things to fix, and for a better performance from the game. It's not on par with the PC version.

As an example, even before Royal Court, there were issues with saves, it didn't just happen with Royal Court, Crusader king 3 already lagged, kept crashing once you start being in years 1000 after JC, forcing me to save a lot of times carefully. It's just impossible to reach the year 1453 without any bug, any crash save, which is not acceptable. And if I have the misfortune to forget to save, the result is always irritating, having to do to a lot of things again with another save, with not even necessarily the same results . It was already very annoying to be honest. Today we just crossed a new low, that game being simply unplayable. It's been more than one month since I cannot play this game I paid with my money. Never had any experience like that with any other game.

Not only Royal Court that was supposed to come out " soon " finally came more than one year later, but I still have to wait today to be able to play the damn thing now that it has been released.

Please make this game playable and enjoyable for consoles.

it’s almost been a whole month, since we’ve heard anything regarding our utterly broken ck3 port. It’s honestly shameless to treat your customers in this manner, and I won’t be surprised if legal action gets taken at this point.

At least you’d hope Paradox realized how out-of-depth Lab42 is with the port for the consoles, and acted responsibly by increasing the amount of work being put into the port, or outright firing/cancelling their contract with Lab42 as it’s inherent they can’t manage the console port to even an respectable degree.

the fact you can barely play the game for an hour, without crashing, and we’ve seen literally nothing which fixes the problems we’ve been encountering for several months, they even managed to mess the sound up in the latest update. The immersion is truly ruined now.

Honestly, at this point it starts looking like an ordinary scam. The game is completely broken and unplayable for a month now. Every time we get any information it is just another excuse and promise that they will provide some information soon. If a month isn't soon enough, then what do they mean by "soon"? And they will provide "some information soon", not like a they will fix the game soon. But still haven't provided any information at all.

I don't even want to mention that there are other, game breaking bugs that were reported more than a year ago and didn't even get ANY feedback till this day.

Really, I'm struggling to see a difference between current situation and the last time I was scammed by some shady company on Kickstarter. It's sad to see how low Paradox has fallen.

We have released a patch that aims to fix many of the smaller issues encountered after the release of the Royal Court, in particular the one that prevented you from Holding the Court.

The issues that are causing game crashes are a top priority and while this patch does not resolve them, we’re working to have them fixed as soon as possible - expect more info shortly.


Below is the changelog for the current patch:
  • Fixed an issue where you are unable to “Hold Court” due to hidden events occuring.
  • Fixed an issue in the tutorial where you get stuck on the Court Artifact window.
  • Fixed an issue where incorrect exclamation marks appear on the Court Menu.
  • Fixed an issue where decisions or pop ups can cause the game to lose focus and navigation.
  • Fixed an issue in the UI where the Relatives box is misaligned in the character menu.
  • Fixed the position of the Artifact buttons.
  • Fixed an issue where the progress bar in the Marshal section jumps to the end wh
  • en it is almost completed.

*Update June 1st*

Today we have released patch 9.2 for XBOX, aimed at solving the identified memory issues.
This fix should result in less instances of game crashing, in particular for XBOX series S.
PlayStation5 patch is undergoing additional testing and we’re aiming to release it next week

On ps5, I can't get the king of all isles trophy to pop. I have looked at the map and requirements, I have all required counties and duchies and my realm size is 67.
 
Is there any communication on the PS5 patch for the issues?

On Jun 1st- you said the PS5 patch is undergoing additional testing and expected to be released next week.
On Jun 8th - you said "We should have some information soon."

And no response post that. More than the broken game Lab42 and Paradox being unprofessional that bugs me out.

If the project/product leaders for CK3-console still hold the jobs, man! just know you are bad at yours.
