If we have to decide now I vote to cripple, though I much rather win the current fight first before I decide how to proceed after the next fight.
In case my upvotes don’t make it clear, I agree. :)

At least one missile to be crashed into their home as payback for our colonists!

For the rest cripple and scout around for easy-to-snatch outlying mines and such.

Seems fair.

To be fair, conquest and optionally subsequent permanent employment in worker camps won't exactly be a picnic for them either.

For the rest cripple and scout around for easy-to-snatch outlying mines and such.

That we should definitely do.

At a range of 195 million km from the enemy Red 2 fleet:

Hopefully that's a full 140-missile salvo... which will wreck our shit but will also bring them that much closer to empty.

The missile salvo should get here in about 40 minutes.

The PD fleet forges on, into the valley of death!

I think we're succeeding in soaking off their missile salvos.

Now to find out what it cost us...

That's 100 missiles.

Missile count: 838.

We picked them up at over 23 million km away, so we should get a decent tracking bonus.

Our AMM-PD can start launching anti-missiles at about 4 or 5 million km.

We've got LOTS.

100 missiles is 5 ships worth, not 7. Is it plausible that two of his ships are already out of missiles?

More likely orders delay from inexperienced crew.

But possible, yes.

As the enemy missile salvos close in to 4.88 million km away, our AMM-PD ships start launching anti-missiles.

Lots of anti-missiles.

There's the first batch of 300 anti-missiles.

Looks like a total of 40 successful AMM anti-missile intercepts (more if we also get a point-blank shot).

That leaves 60 missiles still incoming.

Let's see how our Gauss PD fire does.

Holy Moly, people...

He didn't knock out a single ship!

sc-2873.jpg

Out of his salvo of 100 missiles, 47 were shot down by our AMM-PD anti-missiles. Another 44 were shot down by Gauss turrets. Two missed.

The remaining seven missiles hit, attacking three two different targets, inflicting a total of six armor hits and one internal hit.

The ship that took the internal was already heavily damaged from a previous engagement.

It survived this additional missile damage and is still maintaining its place in formation.

We can't realistically expect the rest of the salvos to go as smoothly, but...

Holy Catfish! I wasn't expecting THAT.

Does show our fleet is more capable than we thought, though.
Which is good.
