I finally downloaded Skyve to test it out. As a first time user who hasn't gotten "used to" all the little details and the way things are, here's my little feedback:
- because it wasn't exactly clear immediately that I'm seeing PDX Mods not my own mods, I almost clicked on different mods that had issues to check them, but they weren't even my mods, they were just PDX mods in general
Expectation: Skyve opens up with MY MODS by default not with a million mods that I may or may not have something to do with (aka PDX Mods)
- "Content" should be named "My content" or something along those lines to make it clear where all the things the user needs to take care of and check, are
- Filters section is very "difficult" to use, right now at least (10min into using it). The UX for a 1st time user is not great. Not sure how much can be improved, but my first instinct was to filter by issues of any type. Normally I would click on the top of the column where these issues are shown, but that's not how Skyve's UI is built, so I couldnt. Checked the actual Filters, couldn't understand anything and I've grown up with computers, so I don't think I'm just dumb
There should be very clear and concrete ways of filtering the most important ways with a click of a button: Mods/assets etc WITH ISSUES to the top; Last updated;
Also, there are warnings that I would like to be able to snooze without having to open the mod every time I want to snooze a warning (like a copyright warning, for example)
- "Required item" should somehow give me the ability to download that required item immediately or at least in less than 3 clicks
- Why is "Launch CS2" somewhere on the far right when it's one of the main buttons to press, thus should be more towards the middle where eyes are naturally looking and/or more visible? (EDIT: apparently you can click the Skyve icon to launch, maybe make it blue to make it obvious?)
- Wish I could minimize and/or move things around in Dashboard (EDIT: just as I said it I noticed the Customize button, but it has some UI issues when the window is not maximized.
Widgets hidden & scrolling doesn't reveal them)
- "Change-log" should be just "changelog", i think
- Oh, one more thing. Utilities - Troubleshoot issues. When I click "View troubleshooting options" a poup appears. The "OK" button there is very close to the very red, dangerous Reset section. One-two accidental panic clicks and people might mess something up. Either way, something there should be moved, I feel.
There may be things beyond your control and reasons why you've done things a certain way or maybe I've repeated many things, so I apologize. I'm not going to read through all the pages to see if somebody has already said the same thing.
Happy holidays!
