I don't know what to say..I thought that Triumph is working on a fantasy game, so I am not very excited about this upcoming game. I love strategy games, so I will buy it regardless of the setting.
Why is this game called "Age of Wonders"? Marketing?
Or we are going to have a deep magic system as well with spell tiers etc.?
When can we read about the detailed feature list? What is the planned release date? [The game is in development for 3 years afterall.]
I found 2 things very interesing so far:
"Strategic Turn-Based Sci-Fi Combat - Perfect your combat strategy in intense turn-based battles that offer tactical challenges, a large cast of races, units with customizable weapons, and destructible environments."
1. I really like the idea of customizable weapons. But why only weapons are customizable? What about armor and other stuff? Like in Endless Legends.
2. Destructible environments - Lovely! However how is that going to work? This is mainly useful in tactical games, like X-Com, Silent Storm etc. The "battles" in those games are played on a big map. There is a cover system etc. in those games. In AoW we have tiny battlefields. This means, that the battlefields will be much bigger this time + we are going to have a cover system [& other tactical elements] as well?
