the reg doesnt seem to work, can u upload a reg file with the entrys?

That won't be enough as the installer checks more then this.

Maybe in future patches I'll just make the installer able to patch any version of the game. Until then the manual installation should be used or updates via Steam/Impulse etc.

Hmmm. I just read this thread, but I am finding it hard to believe that the actual answer to my problem is basically "Yeah, that is too bad, but there really isn't any defined way to get a patch for your game. Haha on you for buying our product through an officially recognized channel like Steam!"

Sadly Steam is very sloppy in terms of Third Party Patches. However as a Steam user I know thats the risk I take when I purchase a non Valve game from them and from a smaller developer at that. It does suck but that's life sometimes. Also a quick question my game version is ?.?.? is that because of mods being installed ?

@Final_germany
The reg does work. I added the regkey manually and the patcher (found on 4players) runs. Of course, you need to insert your path :)

@topic:
This really saddens me. I wrote a complaint to steam, curious what they will respond, if at all.

Well, that is the reg file. If you copy that to a txt and change it to .reg it should work (with your steam path added ofc). Hmm, I'm on a 32 bit Windows, are you on 64 by chance? Maybe it makes a difference.

Hold on there. Being a customer and posting about legitimate concern with a product on a technical support forums is now called "bugging the devs"?

Again, the part you bolded means that they can't control when patch will appear on Steam.
These two statements seem to contradict each other...If you are having problems with Steam, go to THEIR forums and bug THEIR devs. Posting on this forum about issues with Steam will have zero effect on how Steam handles patches because NO ONE on these forums has any control over Steam.

Are you even reading the thread or replying just for the sake of reply just like that other guy with magical workaround? Nobody is bugging the devs here to make patch available faster on Steam. We already wrote to Steam support about it and this was enough. This thread, if you read at least the opening post, is about making a stand alone patch available on Tech Support forum that would patch the game indefinitely of place where you purchased it. Which MartinBG already identified and maybe this be available for upcoming patches.

As a matter of fact, yes I did read the thread. I was simply commenting on the fact that you had complained that about being accused of "bugging the devs" and then after that admitted that nothing being said in this forum could affect what Steam does.

As a bonus: For the most part the DH Devs have little to no control over how ANY of the patches are going to be released. Notice that they weren't allowed to provide an open Beta for the 1.01 patch but had to instead enlist many additional closed Betas and provide access to it that way.
