I definitely remember coming across it a couple of times. I'll go source tracking tonight and add it if I am not beaten to it.
As far as I remember, it's one of the techs you can find in ruins. The jump drive can, just as high-tech wormholes, rip apart reality and stuff.
If it has to be found in an ancient ruin, I guess it's quite powerful. Because of this and because of the name, I believe it's instant travel across some distance.

isn't it just a high level warp not a new one entirely?

Information seems to indicate from comments and articles that it is a new FTL type which is unlocked. One that even though there is a really potential big downside to it, is actually really good in stats, that makes you think "0.01%? What are the chances" and before you know it, you equipped it on all your ships and using it to conquer the galaxy.. before one day, you was idly sending a science ship to scout out an anomaly.. poof! It disappears, then before you know it, the Unbidden swarm into the galaxy.

Source please. :)
I haven't seen that comment.

I attempted to add a page for Orbital Bombardment but it automatically declared me a Spam Bot and would not create the page. =(

For someone who does have authorization, you are welcome to use the following to create the page:

{{version|Pre-release}}
{{expand}}
Orbital Bombardment occurs during the blockade of a planet by a hostile force. The effectiveness is determined by stance and number of ships in the fleet.

As of the preview builds, the orbital stance is specific to each world.

Alright, I've got that in for you. I don't think we'll be able to know about the numbers for sure though, because we see the numbers for Light Bombardment in the second weekly Blorg stream and the damage and minimum health are different; damage at least would surely be related to fleet strength, perhaps weapon type as well.

Thanks. At the very least, there is a page for those curious about the features.

Thanks, The Wiki is a very helpful tool.

Once upon a time I used to pop in the CD, kick off the install and wander to my throne and flip through the manual. I suspect this will be the first major release to not even have a digital one. Any chance they gave some of you major wiki contributors (non-staff) a head start to play the game and the wiki updates are hidden? Off topic cheers to you wiki folk for the work you do.

There will be quite a bit of info carried over from a private wiki on release, yes.

Good to hear the insiders have a fertile field that will be prepared for tilling.

Now then, we may not be doctors, but we can continue to have patience.
