The Wolf tried, but ultimately there is more to being a successful "GOOD MAN!" than just shouting at men and riding at dawn. You also need to laugh heartily, regularly call for Armenian Pomegranate Wine and to have at least one Toros (horse or boy flavour). As he lacked these vital ingredients it is unsurprising he ultimately failed.
So we can add delusional to the list of the Queen's failings. It is a very long list isn't it?
