Description
Game crashing when attempting to start
Windows
SteamWhat is your game version?
PC: 1001514Do you have Space Race installed?
YesPlease explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
After today's update, game is crashing on startup - launches on steam into a blank white window, then crashes in ~2 seconds.
Have tried - disabling mods, computer restart, verifying game files and game reinstall (after removing files from the Steam install directory). Also tried launching in offline mode, but the same crash happens.
Have attached the most recent crash files - not sure what a map parse error is, but looks like it's not good for my launch success! :) Please let me know if there's any further info I can provide/attach.Can you replicate the issue?
Yes, launching game causes the crash every time.Attachments

Getting the same crash. I thought it was related to having just opted in to the mysteries resupply DLC on steam and installed it, which I did before starting the game this morning. Uninstalling the DLC doesn't prevent the crash, though, and I noticed the game had also updated today. Steam version on Windows 7, I don't have space race or green planet. No mods installed, tried steam verify and steam offline mode. I haven't tried a complete reinstall yet. Getting the same crash everytime - from the .crash files:

Same problem. Experiencing crash when attempting to start the game.

GOG-Version; OS: Win 7 64-bit. All previous DLCs installed.

Disabling all custom mods and all DLCs didn't help either.

Just wanted to let you guys know that this issue is resolved for me after upgrading to Windows 10.

I found a way to do a free and legal upgrade (Google is your friend) and just spent the last 4 hours upgrading, and now SM loads correctly, whereas before I was getting a white screen and a crash to desktop.

Same problem. Win 7 64 bits.
I stopped my game around 16:00 (Paris time), then restarted it 1h later. Apparently, there was an update as i read here. And it stopped working...

Hey guys,

do you have a crash report or a bug report?
when i get the message, it says:

Do you have the same error name?

I upgraded my GPU software, de- and reinstalled SM, restarted my PC twice...
Always the same bug report name.

I hope you guys are not uninstalling the game from there apps, you should be uninstalling the game from the window programs & features "don't forget to reboot/restart computer", then you should do a system file check "sfc.exe /scannow" this has to be run in administrator mode for it to work properly this should fix some or all system errors and corrupt files in your PC, you should also do a check disk on your drive you can find this under tools on your drive properties this also fixes errors on your drive too

Same. Win 7, Epic, Season Pass DLC, No Mods.
Error: BEX64

Played fine before lunch. Came back after update and now crashes on start up. Spent 2 hours trying everything to fix to no avail.

So.... How it goes now?
A mod will read this and tell someone of the game to fix it?
Or do the developers read this and looking for a solution?
Or do we just have the same issue and wait for any patch in future which will fix it by mistake?

Just bought the game, first colony edition, same problem as described here.

Win7, Nvidia up-to-date drivers (gtx1050), AMD 8core cpu.

I have zero problem with any of my other games.

It's my first experience with paradox. Not the best start.

Would this be the way Window's 7 support is dropped? Either prepare customer's with advance notice - or - simply skip testing and drop support?

Its not that bad. For the money saved on testers they can now work faster on band new paid DLC :) Yey!
It's convenient for you to discard fans of the game. Insulting when you realize more fans of a game means more development, bigger community, greater longevity.

I just got the game and this problem pops up and yeah i tried restarting my PC , checking the files and all and my drivers are up to date and i have no mods and i'm running it from the epic games store .If anybody knows the solution then please tell me

Yup same problem as everyone here. This is a software issue, not a hardware one, and no amount of scanning for corrupt files or upgrading to win 10 is going to help. The new patch that they sent is the issue, it has broken and needs to be sorted. Come on paradox fix your patch.

It is 3rd day of devs "taking care of this issue" and counting.
