Mac OS - Legit Terrible Graphics (Dark brown surface w. no textures)

What is your game version?
Brand New

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Mac Book Pro running decent graphics chipset. Game looks terrible. Terrain is near-black with no differentiation between e.g. concrete and the rest of mars... nothing is red! Also everything "glows" way too brightly. I disabled the "bloom" setting which helped a bit, but it's still nearly impossible to differentiate anything in detail (e.g. different storage sites) unless you zoom all the way in. I got as far as building my first dome and gave up (in a big huff)! There was no green, no roads, just chocolate mars surface inside a pretty glass dome. Very disappointed in my first playthrough - I paid double-extra for the super-premo pack and can't even do the basics. Did you test it on a Mac? See attached pic of a concrete extractor taken sol midday. It's all black! Where's the terrain differentiation?

MBP OS 10.13.3
2.5 GHz Intel i7
16 GB 1600 DDR33 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2GB graphics

Can you replicate the issue?
Yep - every time.

I'm having the same issue; I'm playing on a 2014 MacBook Pro 15" with an external Dell U2715K 27" monitor.

At the native 2560x1440 resolution, the game is "shifted" about 5% off the top of the screen every time I launch, and I can only get back to proper full screen by choosing a lower resolution, applying, and the re-choosing the 2560x1440 resolution. Like ace11413, I've got horrendous bloom, even with bloom turned off, and I cannot discern the placement of concrete deposits at all.

The resource icons are all "ghosted" as well, seeming to have an off-color overlay of themselves.

Edited to add: Keybinding also seem to be wonky; I can't press "B" to bring up the build menu, and when I go into the keybindings menu, choose Build Menu, and press "B" to assign it, it maps itself as "CTRL-B"

The graphics seem terrible as well running OSX 10.12.6 with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 and external monitor.
Bloom needs to be disabled to see anything. Domes don't seem to have a bottom, no green grass.
Also, everything looks very foggy. The resource overlay looks fine with me.
Edit: the open air gym also misses its ground texture. Seems to be an issue with grounds overall

Same here.

OSX 10.11.6 (NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 2047 MB) - turning the brightness up helps and turning off bloom is a must, But either is everything is so unsatuurated I have to guess the size of the deposits or not bright enough to see surface deposits at all.

The graphics look all messed up, in pretty psychedelic colours. I lower the video resoluccion but still having same proble m

I have a iMAC (MAC OS VERSION 10.11.6) AVAILABLE SPACE 387 GB, PROCESSOR 4 GHZ INTEL CORE i7, memory 16 GB 1600 MHZ DDR3

I can't play the game..can you help...i waiting so long and i can't use it....

While the devs look into this, try disabling the Steam Overlay for this game, which fixed a similar issue on early Cities:Skylines versions on Mac.

I having the exact same issue....Disappointing as I've been looking forward to playing this game for a long time. Mars looks like I'm building a base on a mud ball planet. I'm playing on a mid 2014, 15 inch Mac Pro.

How do you disable the Steam Overlay?

From steam, right click on the game in your library, and choose "Properties." On the "General" tab, uncheck "Enable the Steam Overlay."

This was a good suggestion, I'd forgotten about that problem with Cities: Skylines. It did fix the "screen shift" issue, but the in-game graphics are still messed up. In the attached screenshot, note the "double image" on the Metals icon, the dark ground, the outrageous bloom, and the inability to see where the concrete texture is actually applied.

I'm having the exact same issue on my iMac (specs well within range): everything is so unsaturated and 'muddy' brown. No green or roads in the domes, deposits can be hardly discerned and 'bloom' makes everything that's white so terribly bright. The picture attached is with 'bloom' on, turning it off is better but still not nearly good enough. Turning off the Steam overlay doesn't help. So disappointed, have been looking forward to this game for weeks, watched the launch stream yesterday since noon etc. Please look into this Paradox, apart from this unfortunate display issue your games are awesome and I enjoy playing all of them.

My system specs:

iMac 27 inch macOS 10.13.3
3.5 Ghz Intel i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4 GB

Same issue here.
I have an Mac Pro 2010 dual XEON 3.34 Ghz with High Sierra (10.13.x) installed and a NVIDIA GTX 780 TI.
I've just installed the latest native nvidia drivers and deactivated the steam overlay, but this didn't fix the issue.
I don't want to install a driver from tonymacx86, because why should I install a alternate driver to play this game and I didn't trust that source.

It's from nVidia, TonyMac just provides the link to nVidia.

So, I've tried all of the solutions. The graphics are still awful. I take umbrage that the game was released to Mac users in this state. Especially with an $85.99 (CDN) price tag. It's gross. At this point, I'm more interested in concrete promises of when these issues will be fixed.

And now I can't get a refund through Steam because I spent too much time trying to solve the issues of this game. Which wasn't my job. I paid this company for a game I thought was finished and could run on a Mac. I'm sorely disappointed.
