Will absolutely need to scale things to work good in the game when time comes. :) OK, here's another one. I don't know if I've shown this before, but it's a stage in Oslo, the national theater. Weeeeeeeeeeee big.

Wow looks great! And big! Maybe make it ploppable instead of a lot. Ploppables can be any size and a theater is ideal for something like this:D

The unity Engine uses 'meters'. Did you setup your application units to meters?
I have 3D Max. How did you setup the grids? Do you see any difference between major and minor grid lines? Its barely visible. Weird :(

Yes i use meters in 3Ds max for everything. Also i don't use grids at all. I don't need them. You can snap to almost everything (vertices, faces, midpoints, etc) if you set it up corectly.

Thank you, UnixRoot! :)

Yep, Ne0Que, I always work in meters. The theater is built to scale too. The real life counterpart below. However, a theater like this would need to be a "special building". A monument. Too big to spawn all over town.
edit: haha! Got so many replies while I edited the message. We're on the same page at least. ;)

More objects of that kind (theatres, operas, concert halls, etc.) and maybe it will be easier to convince devs to create in some future DLS a new need for Cims - culture ;). Beautiful work.

Question for moo/co. Can vehicles (bus, train) be modded / replaced / added?
This is one of those questions saved for the Modding Tools dev diary. :)

I couldn't resist. Last one before I go to bed. Rather cartoony with that thick rim on the roof.

Great as always, love it. Use the grid Ola. The grid is strong in you. :D I'll wait for the release before I start more buildings. I want to have the same style the ingame buildings have. That's impossible without seeing them and looking at the textures etc.

HOLY SHIT BALLS!
this sounds EXACTLY like SC4's lot editor....I am very excited now...
Quick question....can we per say....ADD to the library of "props" and make them available to other people for use to make some customized lots? so people who have not learned how to 3d model have a large library of costume props to make some very interesting lots?!?!?!?!?1
PLEASE GIVE ME AN ANSWER BEFORE MY HEART EXPLODES!

Please please please, NO dependencies !!!!!

I know it makes the props creators very proud when people are forced to download their props packs but in the end with SC4 you sometimes have to hunt for a certain file or have to download (and install) a HUGE pack for just one building that you want.

I agree that it will be ok if you can use the props that others have used but you SHOULD include them with the building at download (and there should be a way to get rid of duplicates).

If you don't have dependency lists, but do get rid of duplicates, you'll end up with a situation where a couple get together and have some of the same music CDs so they get rid of the duplicates. Then one guy moves out taking the CDs he brought. Now the other guy is without some of his favorite tracks. Or vice versa.

I am afraid you either need duplicates or you need dependency lists.

No... when they both move in they bring their cds, you put them in the dependencies space and get rid of the duplicates. If you uninstall one of them you keep the cd in the house.
