Now that the game is out maybe a technical support forum would be something to think of. I know I need support. :(

The game quits to the desktop after the initialization (initializing sound) screen briefly flashes by. It´s the Scandinavian version and it´s patched with the 1.01 update.

System:

WinXP corp w. SP1 - 1 week old install updated with all available MS patches.
GeForce Ti4200 - latest nVidia drivers.
Soundblaster Live Value- latest drivers.
AMD 1,33 Ghz processor.
AMD 751 chipset.
LiteOn CDRW.
Generic SCSI DVD CDrom drive.

Guess that´s the relevant systrem specs. EUII works.

I am afraid I cannot help you, but I agree that now that the game is hitting shelves worldwide we should get a Tech Support forum A.S.A.P. :)

Oh, and it seems that the forum is getting really busy, slow as it is at the moment. :D

I have exactly the same problem. Game crashes just after it says Initializing sound...

Windows XP Service Pack 1 and more than enough RAM and processor to run the game.

HEEELP!?

Maybe, but realy maybe, beucause I don't have the game and I don't have the game and i don't know how it works, so... Maybe it's the video crash like EU2 ???? try to rename the "movie" subfolder (or some similar name) then run the game. If it doesn't work, just rename it back.

Once again, this is only a guess.

Having renamed the music folder I too can start the game!!! Not an entirely satifactory solution but it´ll do for now:D

Thanks for the assistance,
Vandelay

Worked for me too, you´re not genius spizzer but you made my day. ;)

When I installed I chose the custom installation and noticed that you have the option to leave the music files on the cd. Maybe that fixes the problem too. Anyone up for it, a reinstall that is? :D

So, could it be that when you don't install to the default directory you get the problem?

I had the same problem - couldnt start the game... then i chose to have music disabled in the "HoI_Settings.exe"and then it worked. It's something with the music.... I didnt install the game in the default directory. When I checked "music.ini" there was a line like "F:\games\HOI\Music" witch seemed correct since I installed the music files onto the harddrive also...

Will try to reinstall the game now... I want that music!

Keep us updated.

No new sound info but other updates.

So far I´ve had two "drop to desktop" occurances during my tutorialising. First time when I started a tutorial, and the second time when I finished one. The game seems to be somewhat unstable when you go from "in game" to a menu or the other way around.
