PC kingdoms Vs AI Kingdoms is one thing and would probably be nice..

But PC Kingdoms vs "nature" is the primary game mode me and my friends played in the original and one we miss the most in this sequel. Best thing was that you could set exactly what monsters you would face as well as respawnable lairs, how large spawn from each lair and general starting conditions.

Another thing that would probably be fun is having something like the single player survival missions in co-op mode with several start options like having all PC kingdoms close to each other or far apart, or perhaps all players controlling the same kingdom and a way to set victory condition like survive for 50,75,100 days or accumulate 250 000 gold.

A way to rename your heroes, buildings, peasants, tax collectors. like in the original would also be very nice, a minor thing sure but sometimes very fun, especially in combination with some kind of local "on your PC achievements journal" that would show the all time highest level hero in a single mission as well as the highest level wizard or most npc kills in a single mission, divided per hero type, etc.

Oh and the final thing that is probably outside the scope of majesty 2 since you're lacking any kind of global community interface thing (e.g windows live, steam, etc) but doesn't hurt to mention is some kind of friend compare achievements for each mission thing that is becoming more and more common in recent games.

Where you can immediately see if your friends have completed a mission that you've just selected and are about to play as well as his/her's statistics e.g amount of total gold accumulated, score, kills, etc, always fun to "one up" your friends in that regard (wohoo i accumulated 20 gold/score/kills more than you muhahah =P that kind of thing)

Not wanting to derail your thread Iampio, just want to set something straight.

Impulse allows you to install on more than one computer. It will not, however, allow you to run more than one at the same time. ... .

This is false.
Impulse is not steam, to play the game impulse does not even have to be running. I own 2 computers and can play LAN games just fine with my impulse version of majesty.

Internet play wont work on more than one pc at the same time probably, but thats not impulse related.

Read the original post and the read the whole topic not just the last 5 posts. 3 pages of chaos with maximum 5 useful posts.
Wll, "don't ruin SP because of MP pls" is not a well detailed problem... :) And the only reason of this panic is that you are not able to destroy buildings (which would allow you to cheat even in SP but "it doesn't matter" as it was said... :) ).
An option to destroy buildings was a suggestion and it won't be implemented, case closed in this topic.

It's really not an issue that can be handled like that. Not being able to destroy misplaced buildings can sometime have a huge impact on the game and the solution might be ridiculously simple.

I'm not sure about the actual numbers, but the price progression of buildings, especially with regards to towers later in the game, is harsh. If I just misplaced one tower in the beginning I'll later pay, say, 1700 instead of 1300 and so on, just because of a useless tower that I cant - get - rid - of. That apart from an aesthetic point of view is a problem not only with towers.

Now to the possibly very naive solution: Just make destroying a building cost gold!

Also, can anyone enlighten me as to why there are no walls?

So wait, you can do LAN with only one copy on Impulse? I know dual internet won't work, but if LAN will, that's great!

Money in Buildings

1) I noticed today that a Ratman took out a windmill with ~$400 in it but no money went into the Ratman's inventory . . . wasn't this what happened in the original? I Haven't played M1 since it was relevant (~2001) but I seem to recall any money that was in a house went to the mobs destroying it - same rules as heroes.

Can the OP add this to his growing list if confirmed?

2) Pronouns are often wrong (tooltip for priestess says "he" can do this or that)

3) [WON'T BE FIXED] The script for the Connery-sound-alike [advisor] has WAY too many "your majestys" in it - they just don't 'feel authentic'. I suppose it was a function of the translation but in the first game the advisor used it sparingly. He used it more as an exhortation rather than your de-facto name: to much greater effect, in my opinion.

Perhaps I can start a rewrite of the in-game text and tooltips for the english localization...

1) I won't update with this one the OP because I think it's not really a missing feature but only something that works not the same way as in the first one. I don't really want to update the OP with little, not so important things (there are too many of them in it at the moment too I think) because the list is too long. When most of the list will be green ( :D ) I'll update it with not so important features too. I hope you can understand my point of view.

2)-3) This is a bug and you can post it into the BUGS section of the forums.

iampio, when you set a "whats missing" topic representing all players, i mean, its public, you cant ADD only things that YOU think thats ok or not.

This topic is seted as a public one, it dont takes your name or " Whats missing in iampio's opinion", so, everyone who wants to add something should be heard.

for exemple, me and other 8748641894498 users think that the AI needs changes, and just why you dont agree with this dosent mean that you will not put this in the list, becouse as i told, THIS IS PUBLIC, you are not the one who choose what will be or not in the list, you must put everthing in the list and than the DEVs will implement what they think is needed.

you are not a developer of the game, not a paradox member and not even a moderator of the forum, so take it easy.

sorry if i was agressive but everbody should be listen, not just you and a cuple of other players who think that are better than others.

now, i would like to include somethings in the list:

- AI needs improvements. (even more becouse the multiplayer)
- Customizable Multiplayer map generator, not only one 2vs2 map and only the same 1vs1 maps, not to mention that "build 3 temples of krypta before and win" LOL. (i want to play i map that i chose if it will be 2vs2 or 1vs1, and maybe even the monsters present on the map).

As I said in the original post I won't list AI related things not because I don't want to but because it's not some kind of missing feature. You can report AI related problems in the BUG REPORT forums because these are bugs.

And another problem with AI things: I would like to be as detailed in this topic as possible. "AI needs improvements" is not a detailed thing. I think someone should make a "The big "AI suggestions" thread for devs" and there he/she can collect all AI related suggestions. Believe you or not I wanted to do that but I saw that this topic was instantly ruined by whiners and that took away my enthusiasm. I am sure that if you make a topic for AI suggestions and you ask Fredrik for stickying he'll do it.

I can update this topic with "AI needs improvements" but it's not a simple "is it implemented or not" feature and in details there are tons of different suggestions about what means "improved AI". So in a nutshell: someone should make an AI suggestion collection because I'll update this topic only with well detailed, missing FEATURES as I said it in the OP and devs can read it too so they'll see that AI problems aren't here.

If I allow "AI should be more active" kind of things then I should allow "character icons don't look as good as they should look" and then the whole topic will lose its meaning.

About my post to Exx: I personally think that suggestion #1 is some kind of "content update" and as somebody said in one of the first posts that I shouldn't allow content updates because these are for expansions and not for patches. There's an expansion suggestion topic somewhere on the forum I am sure that Paradox monitors that topic too. But in this case if 2-3 people post that they think that this is a missing feature and needs to be implemented as soon as possible I'll update the OP with this in the last section (content updates that are too important to wait with them for an expansions). You have right I made some kind of personal decision but I think I should sometimes make that because if I allow everything the the OP will be flooded with absolutely not important things that are important only for max 1-2 customer. Every time I decide not to put something in the OP then if I get some post against my decision I will change it and update the OP. So anybody who thinks that build looting rats are important missing feature please put a note here.

I hope you can understand my point of view about this topic and you can accept that. I just did this topic because nobody else did and I declared my principles about it in the original post. I don't get money or tribute for this so if you all think that I make it with a wrong point of view I can pass it to a more competent person at any time.

Edit: I updated the OP with Exx's #1 suggestion because I rethought that and I agree, it's not content update, it's a missing feature. Sorry about that Exx. Next time if I am not sure in a suggestion I'll ask here what others think about that.

PAID BUILDING DEMOLITION!: The only reason buildings can't be demolished is to prevent an exploration exploit. This exploit could easily be solved by making building demolition cost 1000-2000 gold.

I know I speak on behalf of thousands of players when I say that I HATE being unable to demolish buildings. In Majesty 1 the only buildings you couldn't destroy were sewers and graveyards, you couldn't directly destroy houses but you could put a big reward flag on them or strike them with spells or remove them from the repair cycle if they ever spawned in the way.

Dear Developers

Among the biggest complaints thus far are as follows

1: There is no Continue button at the end of missions (As in Majesty 1)
2: There is no Free Play mode (Even absent of a Random Map Generator, large open Free Play mode maps are doable, with selectable starting positions, selectable lair themes, and wandering/invading monster themes)
3: Buildings can not be demolished (I'm aware of the exploit, charging a demolition fee would negate the use of the exploit)
4: Buildings can not be removed from the repair/tax cycle (This was a feature in Majesty 1)
5: When there are more heroes than can be displayed in the Gather Party window it snaps back to the first two rows when you try to scrolling through them.
6: Multiplayer Chat is far too limited.
7: Multiplayer maps are too small and uninteresting.
8: Multiplayer Game modes are far too limited, many want co-op freeplay modes
9: In some Multi Player modes, players should be neutral unless tagged with a reward flag.

Failing to address these concerns will reflect badly on the developers and hurt consumer confidence in Paradox, addressing them will increase customer loyalty and increase customer satisfaction.

You cant crawl on Holy ground with temples....

i built Krypta, but later made paladins and now i want Agrela. how about click-drag temple onto old temple destroys current and starts building process over. (click drag only) majesty spell removed

or a fear flag can keep repair people away?

They did it in case of Team Fortress 2 and now everybody abuse them because they don't want to give everything for free (look at L4D-L4D2 story).
So sadly this kind of habit can strike back. People won't remember what did you well only if it helps them to abuse you...

Yeah you're right. I am one of the ones that are eager to get L4D2 as it means a more competitive game for me than L4D one this time around (hoping to go into some leagues) but I feel that the community will be split apart. :(
