Can I see the website update right?
7th June of 2003??? Just looked in and this project is a very good idea, but the website is a bit hm.. old.
Daywalker is a bit ... lazy on updating his site ;)

IMHO yes. His mod is the best AI handler ever created and bypasses all problems (mainly in colonization) of EU2.
However I really hope that one day he will return back giving us the new version of his mod

In your new mod do you think you could find a way of stopping the entire HRE being gobbled up before 1550?

Some mod-ers have created events to release annexed HRE states, but this doesn't distinguish between ahistorical annexations (usually military, although Austria can also go on a diplo-annex spree) and historically-likely annexations (event-driven or otherwise).

Wars between HRE members usually end in at least one annexation, resulting in BB, temporary-CBs & a relations hit. These encourage other HRE members to declare war & the whole thing spirals until there are only several large nations in the HRE zone with an uneasy balance of power. Ideally HRE members shouldn't militarily annex one another (even if outsiders like France and Denmark actually did), but this is hard-coded: as it is, AI nations don't choose "lesser" peace options even if vassalisation might be the optimal choice in the longer-term. The AI doesn't account for the negative repercussions of annexing.

Another option is to try & reduce the number of wars between HRE states, but even on "Coward" aggression-level, with AI-war=0 no-CB same-religion states, there's a significant chance of declaring war on each other as soon as relations are <+150. Just start a "Coward" GC & count the number of wars involving HRE members during 1419.

Mod-ers can try & cut down HRE wars is through diplomatic options in the scenario set-up. High relations (>+150) & RMs reduce the chance of war being declared, but favour the diplo-vassal/annexe route. States that change religion (& break RM will all of the HRE) are likely to be attacked as they recover from -3 stab (Wars of Religion?). I'm about to play-test a GC setup where all the HRE share MA. Not sure how long the AI will take to before the MAs start to be broken, but this method has been used by Johan (in one patched version for the GC-setup) to delay the AI OE from declaring war on Byzantium.

Can this AI mod be used on the Mac version? If so, is there a location where it is a zip file? I've looked, but unless I'm missing it, all I can find is the exe from daywalkers own site and that won't work. Just curious as this sounds really good.

Yes it can ! :) Download the .exe file and expand it with the latest version of stufflt expander(it works). Then put what is in the ai folder in EU II ai folder, the grand campaign (bp ai) in the scenario folder and the BP mod folder in EU II DB folder.
Hope it's clear...

I discovered this just now, and I must say that it looks excellent! Now I don't have to fix Portugal's problems on my own, I can download this instead!

Great Work, Daywalker! :)
