Link to Part II
I'll second this request.

It seems like the supporters of Darius chose the wrong appeal to the past. Will "true" Achaemenids succeed the Argeads, or is the title "Achaemenid Empire" more of an artifact than a meaningful name?

How did Rome split in half? Was there something like the Tetrarchy in this universe?

As requested @Midnite Duke @HistoryDude , here's the link to chapter 2. Providing a short prologue in media res in the 10th century before I revisit what happened in the past 400 years since the end of this chapter in 476 AD.

Link to Chapter 2 in CK3:
The Achaemeneh (Achaemenid Megacampaign Part 2)

I'll detail out the changes in Rome in CK3 but the metagame reason is that The Fallen Eagle mod forces some kind of empire split as a decision for the Rome AI so I had to shape the two empires to be semi-logical.

Have been working on catching up with this AAR for many weeks. This is an excellent history book. Usually, I am not much for the Persians but this really transcends that issue for me with all of its twists, turns, and surprises. The voice of the historian here is strong and vibrant, making these rulers come to life. (Perhaps the unique blend of Persian and Greek cultures also helped?) I will definitely follow along for the next chapter in the planned campaign.

Too bad Darius II overplayed his weak hand at the end of this first phase. Looking forward to how you reconstitute this in CK3. Well done!

Welcome Chac1 and glad to have you as a reader, even overcoming your aversion to Persian tales. Your kind words are appreciated!

Now I am looking forward to having you join us in the CK3 continuation as wecontinue the tale of this illustrious dynasty. It's another long story - 900+ years of history to cover.
