Papal States - colonizing a few provinces in East Africa.

Russia not to win a single war - they've stayed with their initial provcinces though for a long long time. Brandenburg taking Lipetsk at the beginning of the game.

Spain winning a few wars right at the beginning vs France and weakening France as much as taking all its southern provinces.

Turkey conquers the Balkans up to swallowing Hungary and taking 4 Austrian provinces in the first half of the XVIth century, then lets them rot away till Hungary (2p), Wallachia (6p!) and Greece (3p)reappear...

Why did they bother conquering them in the first place?

Russia getting to Delaware with no ship in sight!!!

I think it was a bug in the savegame.

Well, if Russia got maps from somebody, why not?

In my current GC as England, I've halted my advance across North Africa with Tripolitania, as my hands are somewhat full in Europe and the New World. Now and then Persia declares war, and so little comes of it that we sign a white peace shortly thereafter. This pattern repeated itself just recently, but instead of a peace deal, I get a demand for 250 D and Connaught! Troops from Ulster quickly routed the tiny 2K army, but it was good for a laugh.

Hehe. Connaught, maybe, but you're not getting 250 D out of me. ;)

I've just been told I now had a very good minister, so my monarch's ratings would be improved for the next 204 years.

That's political longevity for you!

Well, les see. In one of my games as Ethiopia, I saw tps for Saxony in SA, Venice had Chesapeake, Hansa had tps in NA, Aztecs were conquered by Vinland, Denmark actually did well against Sweden(did not lose land from to Sweden, actually took a few provinces from them). Prussia controlling a fair bit of Northern Europe, oh and Ethiopia conquered the globe:D And what about having Venice as an ally for about 285 years? Is that strange? I really do not know;) :p :D

uumm 3 things

1)Scotland makes England into her Vassle
2)Iraq Annexed Persia (no help from turks!)
3)Sibir beats Russia in war and recieves Astrakhan and Olden burg as payment. Then goes on to take Uzbeks!!

I just can't think of all the soldiers and ships lost to attrition in the voyage. Was it worth it?

As an AI nation-ships lost to attrition=zero, since the AI doesn't suffer from it. That's one of the major causes of the accumulated oddities listed in this thread.

Although one of Denmark's most northerly provinces owned by Georgia wasn't caused by that................

Revenge of the Minor Powers

In the course of one game:

Baden takes half of The Netherlands, while Thuringten expands to three provinces.

Prussia takes four provinces from Poland-Lithuania in a series of wars, while the Knights content themselves with establishing colonies in the New World.

Persia wins provinces and indemnities in her wars with Turkey.

The Spanish monarchy pull their hair out as Navarra sieges four provinces and keeps two in the peace treaty, The Netherlands quickly kicks out the Spaniards, the annexed Papal States break free and team up with Baden in sieging Spanish possessions in Italy, while revolting Aztecs shut off the flow of wealth from those gold-rich provinces for years and years.

Now England, eager to get some return on the money they spent funding these breakaway states :D , declares war. His Majesty the King of Spain sizes up the situation, and crawls back into bed.

How about the King of Denmark, after conquering Kazan and the Golden Horde and forcing astrakahn to accept a humiliating peace, visiting his soon to be annexed Pskovian territory on the black sea. Meanwhile, the english have the run of Bolonga, and the poles have taken over the southern 1/3 of Portual, with the northern third being ruled by the Hanse.

This goes to prove that the game engine creates a lot of fun for us. So, no need to complain about the AI. What fun would this game be without all these rather unlikely, but still entertaining events? EU... a brilliant game in all respects!
