Well she could be Daughter of VERY wealthy merchant. It actually happened in history throught it was somewhat rare.
Somehow the Byzantine Emperor ended up inheriting the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Varangian Guard.
Take a look at the dates, Nephos was already an emperor when he somehow inherited the Patriarchate.
Also, look at him hoarding all those titles.
And yet, despite all his vassals hating him for having 16 extra duchies, the Byzantine Empire still hasn't collapsed.
