More adorable than anything else, the Empire of Belgrade lost all it's land in a revolt (the land that later became Carpathia/Jerusalem) about 150 years ago, yet they still continue to call themselves an Empire of 1 County

This one I mainly just picked because I started in the 867 start and the Abbasid dynasty has completely died out (sadly Karlings and Umayyads are still holding on barely)

The Karlings gonna fall quickly it seems.

I'm not sure what the name "Peksen" means in Karluk, but I have my suspicions ...

This despite my best efforts at eugenics. Peksen's mom has got it going on, after all:

The Random Naysayer Gods have apparently decreed that the House of Karluk shall slowly turn into one great shoggoth-like heap of disease and madness. I don't think there has been more than two children born without negative congenital traits in the Dynasty throughout Kopti's rule. Check out the Wonder Twins:

Guess which one got slated to be the next Khagan. To uh, better prepare him for the uh, dangers of the crown, I set him up with his own mercenary company (which, ironically, grew to the largest size I've ever seen for one of my dynastic mercenaries, Angra Mainyu only knows how), but sadly he must have taken a knock on the head and died comatose not long after his 21st birthday.

EDIT: Perhaps I'll have to revise my opinion of the Peksens. One of them just had a Quick son (by a Quick father), and she herself turned out not too bad for an imbecile ...

Crusader Queens?

From the looks of things, my guess is that Charlemagne reunified the Frankish lands and conquered the Lombards in northern Italy, but died before he could create either the HRE or Francia. Rather than trying to legitimize his bastard son Pepin, Charlemagne decided to change the inheritance laws of the Frankish realms from Agnatic to Cognatic and his lands were split via Gavelkind amongst his five legitimate daughters. Thus the Carolingian infighting came a generation earlier than in RL. What's more amazing is that the Frankish nobility went along with it instead of starting a faction for Elective with Pepin as heir.
