I somehow ended up being King of the Iron Throne as the Daynes (Conquest of Dorne start) simply because there was a big war and I was largest vassal with no male Targs left.
Apparently, I can suggest myself to myself. What an insightful ruler I must be. Made my day.

Judging from what I've read in most threads here, and what I've seen in my own games, this state of affairs, at this date, is somewhat unusual:

Incidentally, there have only been two Jihads declared: one to reclaim Jerusalem from the Knights Hospitaller (which succeeded), and the other to reclaim Mesopotamia from me (which failed). So the Muslims managed to hang on in Iberia until around 1302-1305ish.
(Also, Venice had completely collapsed, and Venezia was reduced to being ruled by a mayor. I conquered it, and my vassal republic recreated the duke and king level titles.)

It occurred to me that I might be misremembering the names of the areas when ruled by Muslims. If that is the case, then my apologies for my mistake.

(It's a month old pic, but IIRC I married some random Byzantine princess with good stats from the bride list, and somehow she got to be the empress for a while without me noticing before this happened. Unfortunately my son was kicked out in about a month.

I was Dioclea and swore fealty to the ERE, and the Emperor and his son died (I had nothing to do with this) so a 12 year old was placed on the throne. So I gave the Emperor the suggestion to have a random Tengri courtier teach him. And then when he turned 16 everyone was getting their titles revoked (Including me... >_<).

Quite impressive AI Volga Bulgaria. This isn't even them at their height! They did a conquest for Itil which you see here and conquered all of it and at their height owned all of the land required for the Russian Empire and borded Poland unfortunately they decided not to create it for whatever reason and collapsed in one big succession crisis.

As best I can tell, the Ilkhanate appeared in the middle of the HRE, and basically all but annihilated it. I didn't even know that could happen.

Nope. This is all vanilla. (Including all the DLCs, save the Aztec one.)
Hmmm......sounds like a bug to me. How should they spawn in the middle of europe while coming from east-asia.
Please report in the bug forum if they actually spawned there. Though i believe having seen something similar in another thread. Thanks.
