Yes, that's right: the one and only AI Merovingian character, who is a monk, managed to reinstate himself and his bloodline!

He's not exactly in a good situation (losing two defensive wars)... but still, very impressive and very rare.

EDIT: Aaaaand it's over. He was overthrown and then died, his sons are unmarried, his daughters are married but not matrilineally.

I don't know how it's even possible for the AI to do this, but somehow they managed it.

Bengali-culture Saxon-ethnicity king of Germany. (The Indian crown, plus his pasty-white face, plus his dubious choice of beard - truly a winning combination, don't you think?!)

All of his relatives have expected culture (Saxon, Frisian, etc). And he's extremely outside diplo range of India. And I'm neither Germanic nor Indian (I'm in Siberia), so I'm pretty sure this isn't my influence. The only thing I can think is if the Indian eunuch event produced a Bengali character (is that possible? I thought they were always Hindustani...), and that eunuch was chosen as the educator for this guy for some reason.

Still, it's amusing to see some medieval reverse colonialism! I wonder how long he'll last...

Its semi common. In 769 theres like 3 claimants to the various frankish kingdoms, one of whom is merovingian

I'm getting eunuchs of African-like cultures each time the event procs. And I'm on Faroe Islands.
There are more events which can potentially add unexpected cultures to unexpected places, these are just quite rare.
Notably, same courtier might be unfortunate enough to be targeted by multiple "set free excessive courtiers" decisions in each court they arrived to. Resulting in them ending up far, far away from their birthplaces...
(hmmmmmmmm, I wonder if it's possible to oversaturate surrounding realms with my culture by introducing then setting free numerous debutantes...)

What empire are the abbasids to be red?
Either Deccan empire or one of the South Indian kingdoms.

Without checking in-game, I think it's one of the kingdoms, maybe Maharashtra (sp?). I think Deccan is a bit more purple.
