You can RP the DA in 2 styles, Imo, the classic Borg thing, or the Omnicodex style, machine who assimilate organic to kinda preserve them. So, if they are "driven" in this way, not surprising they go for natural sanctuary
Oh man that is gonna be one hell of a fight. Also since when can archaeological sites spawn on ringworlds?

That was actually one of the gas giants in orbit outside the Sanctuary Ringworld.
I haven't ever seen an archeology site on a Ringworld segment, but now that you mention it I'd like one.

I abducted a pop from an enemy, and it was deposited on a planet that was still being colonized.

During my Devouring Swarm playthrough, I got the Portal Planetary event to fire and ended up getting the parallel dimension result, which is not only worthless to Gestalts, but also raises some hilarious questions:
"They are us, but not us. Are they prey or not? The Mind is confused..."
