Being hive-assimilated is no obstacle to a full hedonist lifestyle!View attachment 1213277
Took the habitat during a total war and assimilated their population, then the awakened fallen empire took it back.
Apparently, the ability to give hive-mind pops full rights requires exclusive ancient precursor societal knowledge!

Poor Binami civilizations. Two asteroid events in that system at the same time. Those asteroids must really hate them. Kinda might explain why both planets are tomb worlds...

Playing as criminal robots I just met my first fallen empire year 2212. Immediately I got two popups:

There will be hardships to endure, but I also prophesize the coming of a glorious Lathe.

Good news: the Ketlings have reached space and formed their own empire. The bad news? It turns out that the empire that killed their former owners is still around and still prefers that those systems remain empty.

Found this behind a shield world. I like to think that the isolationists found the Dathnak, sent in a fleet to kill them, then shielded the gas giant to make sure nothing could escape.

I'm feeling extra materialistic today...

Admiral: "How many strike craft should we send to fight the Unbidden?"
Minister of Defense: "Yes"

I managed to get a radiant storm that only affects two systems, both of which have arc furnaces. And they said cosmic storms were bad...

I've only recently got back into Stellaris, but this seemed odd to me. Not sure if it's meant to happen or not;

An Aquatic species who prefer Arid worlds?

It's strange, but normal. Aquatic portraits are not actually tied to any mechanical features or climate preferences. Randomly generated species with Aquatic portraits essentially have an even chance to get any climate preference, so they're actually more likely to get a weird result than a sensible one.

The Barcalid were adaptive enough, that they managed to hide the fact that they were aquatic from most people. In truth, being aquatic used to control the lives of the Barcalid. They used get into all kinds of fights, and woke up in strange places, because they also happen to be unruly and nomadic. Sometimes during their aquatic binges they would slur long speeches about obscure social theories, which would also get them into fights.

All this was getting out of hand, and the Barcalid knew that they had to change their ways. The first step was for the Barcalid to admit to themselves that they are aquatic. They joined aquatics anonymous, and are now on path to recovery. They just earned their badge of 5 months of arid preference.

Ok I have another "Is this meant to be happening or not?" moment:

Renaissance Ring World.png

A ring world civilization that is renaissance level?

(Actually, I also had another moment but couldn't get a good screenshot: I tried a Clone Army Origin game and one of my Officials started with the Fertility Preacher trait. I thought it was hilarious to imagine: "My dear citizens, I know we are all infertile but please; keep ****ing anyway... it's good for morale!")

Shattered Ring is one of the origins that can spawn as an Pre-FTL ... is there an 'Interloper' as well?

I'm pretty sure it's meant to happen. I have seen civilizations of all sorts of levels on ring worlds. I just always assume that they were either planted there by some sort of meddling civilization that has since disappeared or are post-apocalyptic survivors who had to re-start their civilization.
