Summary

Thousands of homeless - not registering on stats

Steps to reproduce

load my game since the update

Expected Result

the level of homeless to be reflected in the stats, and to be able to house the homeless

Actual Result

I have thousands of homeless in every park. The data shows there are no homeless. When you select many of them they are healthy, content and often wealthy. I spammed a massive housing estate, but cant shift them. I get new people from outside move in, but the homeless just increase exponentially.

Game Version

1.3.3fl

What mods do you have installed?

quite a few

Affected Feature

  • Gameplay

Platform

  • Steam

Additional Information

Additional Information

The homeless do not appear in the stats - yet there are thousands in every park. I have unfilled houses, and new people moving in, but the homeless are just sat in a park. Most of them are fairly happy, have a Job and are apparently wealthy, so i have no idea.
I disabled the homeless in dev mode, and then used the remove homeless option, but they don't move and they still increase.
The game is simply becoming unplayable. I keep coming back in the hope it will be sorted, but every supposed update breaks it further.

@pdx_Mimonsi

Just to bring context for other readers of the thread, I have a total of 0 mods (null, zero, nada). Unless you count the regional packs (and those are made by Paradox, so I would bet they are supposed to work with the rest of the game).

Yet, you can see I have the same problem as seen under this comment:

And there is additional research made under this thread:

Happy to provide a fresher savegame or further information, still having the issue. Homeless cims are still stuck in places like the metro, the medieval castle, parks, shops... yet they have jobs, and they still do not count on the homeless stats.
Thanks for your comments.
Im genuinely pleased people have noticed this and looking into it.
I totally forgot you had zero mods Satrustegui.
Thanks for taking the time to add what you have discovered.
Hopefully this can be resolved at some stage.

While we are waiting for Paradox and CO; has anyone at all achieved a way to trigger a purge even temporarily? I am so afraid to play the savefile because I am about to go above 300k cims
Nope.
I used dev mode to delete all the traffic and cims, and essentially it just made them visibly disappear, but they still exist.
I also turned off homeless and deleted them via dev mode.
however, As i said in a post somewhere, the dogs all stand waiting at the parks, and the owners become a location finder as if they are in a house.
Once they leave the park to go to work/school/shopping etc. They return to the park and become visible again.
I then got hoards of new homeless appearing - so i dont think there is a way to remove them.

As I mention before, sometimes and very rarely, I get a huge migration wave that clears the homeless from my city. I still do not know what exactly triggers this event. It's actually kind of impressive seeing all the cims leaving, some even walking. I have all my transportation free, and I have not seen one of these migrations in a while. I have not managed to reproduce this consistently.

Another thing to do: delete and rebuild the big parks. Or even better, do not use them at all. This helps, but it is not bulletproof, as there are other places where cims are getting stuck.
