The screenshots look really underwhelming, it looks exactly like CK2 but with EU3 interface. I really hope Paradox innovates the interface to make it better, prettier and faster to use.

I'm not sure about the quest system, but it can't be worse than EU3's mission system. IF I GET "MAKE BOHEMIA VOTE FOR US" OR "NAVAL RACE AGAINST ENGLAND" (WHEN MY NAVAL FORCELIMIT IS 2) ONE MORE FREAKING TIME... Yeah I hope the game will still have the same fun map painting properties, but with more fun gameplay systems and cooler battles.

Also more personality for rulers is amazing. Thank you for learning from CK2, Paradox. Just put a ton of effort into that. Great men should also have personalities and interactions imo. Maybe like recruiting great men similar to how Descartes was brought to the court of Sweden historically.

Its still a year until release, so I wouldn't judge it too harshly.

I'm guessing that's because they took the EU3 map, stuck it through a CK2-ifier and added in some extra bits to make it look nice as a prototype to build on.

I'm hoping there will be a serious increase in the number of provinces over EU3. When we have mods that give Wales 6 provinces in CK2 going back to 2 for EU4 will be hard. If I had my way the world would be based off using the Matter of Britain mod as a scale to build off. That level of huge world detail.

Of course people will just say "but then it'll slow down too much, there'd be too much going on for computers to handle", and I say "technology doesn't advance when you build within the confines of what's possible". If they build it huge they will have to find ways to make it work better, even if it's telling customers to buy 10 computers and link them together. It shall be done.

@ number of provinces: Less is often more, I think the number of provinces in EU3 is fine (except in certain parts of the map, namely China and India), I think it would be more important to have more meaningful ways to effect your provinces.

Super impressed, and more than a little shocked that this isn't Rome 2. Which is actually a good thing. :D

In the trailer, now Sardinia is split in two

Damn I didn't want EU IV, not only I really wanted Rome II, announcing this so soon will create plenty of speculations regarding Magna Mundi.

Well, the game has clearly been in development for far more than a month. So they should have postponed a game already in development, completely changing their business plan, to avoid "speculation" about Magna Mundi, which was just a niche project? I don't think it's a good idea...

EDIT: it's possible that there is a relationship between MM and EUIV though.. I think that Paradox may have thought that publishing a modified version of EUIII after the announcement of EUIV (which should be published in a bit more than a year) wouldn't have been a good idea, expecially if MM was actually a sub-par game, thus possibly damaging the brand. This may have been a factor in the decision of cancelling the game.

Very excited! I was almost sure they were going to announce Rome 2 so I am pleasantly surprised.

Screens look great. It's gonna be a long 12-15 months!
