Great news!

Sounds like Paradox will knock this out of the park as per usual. I get the sense that EU IV will be to EU III what EU 2 was to EU I....EU III is a great game, but it lacked the refinement and historical detail to really suck me in as EU 2 did back in the day.

So the cycle starts over. A new EU game and the first game based on the new engine will be Rome 2.

I don't think they need a new engine, just constantly improve this one. I would say CK2 is the first game in the new cycle.

EU4.

Well Paradox i have good new and bad news.

Bad news first: You have to fight Bethesda For my Mortal Soul. Good luck with that.

good News: I will be spending money on EU4.

I'd still like to see this video - will it be available at any point?

I see twitch.tv's Paradox channel has previous broadcasts archived. The one from Aug 9th is the newest, so perhaps it will be archived when the next broadcast is sent?

The video was Johan and another dev(don't remember right now who) discussing the development of their games, with ultralow sound so it was hard to hear anything :)(), and then the trailer came, which you can find on youtube.:)

Missed opportunity IMO, since Total War - Rome II is coming out next year. Paradox could take advantage of the hype around that to reach a wider range of potential buyers. Still, I will still buy EUIV to support the greatest company on the planet ! (And also because I just like EU)
